Space and Time: barrel blend might be one of the best beers they’ve ever put out. I should have bought more
Possibly heading up to Deerfield next month. What’s the pulse been on the flagship beers? Still fairly consistent and tasting great? My treehouse hall usually consists of the basics. Julius, green, haze, etc. always hope for alter ego or sap to be available… and daze… and a nice variant of eureka… and lights on…
100% printed cans kind of throws me for a loop. I know I heard something about a new company or vendor or something making this easier/possible. It’s been a trend for a few breweries flagships - around NY you see other half, threes, equilibrium, Grimm, and some others leaning that way also. Also better for recycling, I know. Sticker cans always made it feel more small batch/artisanal to me. No major gripe, just something to get used to.
I don't like the "waxy" texture of the cans. Makes it feel slippery. Idk that's just a minor issue though.
The opportunity I have to go to treehouse is on Easter Monday. Would stay overnight. But it’s apparently a bad traffic day. Not sure if o should pull the plug on the what’s supposed to be a 3 hour drive from NYC to Deerfield. Would stay overnight and drive back Tuesday.
Personally I hate driving through Connecticut. I'd be tempted to go to Saratoga instead and stop for some Fidens cans on the way home. Can attest that the Haze I bought last week was as good as ever. Really had a tropical vibe like those early batches.
Interesting debate. It’s essentially the same drive time. The run to Saratoga might be prettier, plus hit Suarez on the way up? Then again, there are some great beer spots (and pizza) near New Haven.
I didn’t realize Saratoga was about the same distance. Charlton is too. Heck 3 locations all about equi-distant. Decisions decisions
Connecticut gave me Death Threat and Hatebreed’s Under the Knife, EP. CT will forever receive unconditional love from me. and NEBCO…
Connecticut is a fine state. Absolutely terrifying to drive through. But otherwise fine. The 15 Parkway is two lanes of pure, unrestrained pissed off. I avoid it at all costs.
As a resident of the quiet corner, I share in the disdain for the Merritt and most of the I95 corridor. The population density down there is just too damn high. Speeds on the interstates state wide are insane. If you're not doing 70-75, you're getting run over.
