What beer are you drinking now? #4886

I’ll have a sad Saint Patrick’s Day with an NA beer planned to start the day, and perhaps no more with my commitment to serve back-to-back election judge sessions March 17th and 18th. A minimum of 14-15 hours each day. No Irish beer on hand today, will go with the last of this beer on hand from the current Deep Woods season.

All Spruced Up Nowhere To Go from Velum Fermentation. 16 fl oz can, purchased 26/02/26 from Franklin Beer, Franklin, PA. $3.25 (Including tax)/$ 0.203/fl oz. In reefer at store, stored at 40 degrees F at home. Reviewed 06/03/26, review 3699.
Final impression and summation: 3 (After deducting 0.25 point for an undated container) Uncredited label art. IMHO, basically Pine-Sol® (after checking the MSDS sheet, it’s non-toxic) with some well-hidden ethanol.

Nothing at the moment, unfortunately I’m still at work. But man I plan to get a nice buzz going all weekend. Haven’t quite decided yet what I will indulge in. Leaning toward a mix of imperial stouts like KBS mixed with some light beers like Peroni. I am super excited to sit by the pool and get fucking buzzed. Let’s go boys!

Thanks Dave. I served in 2004 when everything was in paper on everyone voted on the same day. It was very busy all day.

The second time was for the 2024 primary. There were two bad judges between the two precincts (one lazy in ours, one belligerent in the one across from us), so skipped serving the general election along with another good judge. Will call to report if there is a repeat this time. A slight majority of Chicago voters vote either at the early sites open for a few weeks (about a 1/3) or via mail (about a 1/4), but in our Ward the vast majority vote early, and we only had 49 voters over 13 hours in 2024.

The second day is for the CPS school board at my neighborhood school. IIRC about 20 voters including teachers and staff participated last time. Was asked to help out two years ago, and this is my second time. I don’t know why they even hold an election in most schools, with one candidate for each position (none contested) including the school I’m serving. The majority of schools don’t slate a full board due to lack of parent volunteers.

The heavy fog earlier is finally lifting, and it will be a warm nice day this afternoon!

May even slip a canoe into the lake (as it appears to now be ice free) later for an early season paddle!
