    A rep walked into Club Raul today and gave me a sample of this stuff that is new to town. It’s pretty good, but we prefer to stay as local as possible (basically all of California and the Pacific Northwest. Hey @Resistance88 , we are at capacity and can’t let anyone else in. Come over to @Braunmeister_1943 ’s booth with us and chill. Cheers!

    Sounds like it's all happening at Raul's, headquarters for the night owls. Meanwhile in a humbler corner of the Southland it's Urban Swell IPA from Urban Roots Brewing.

    Quite aromatic with mango and a whiff of carrots. Light body with spritzy mouthfeel. Hints of papaya and plenty of lime in the flavor. Dark finish with distinct bitterness. Overall this is an interesting and complex hoppy brew that is quite sippable.

    I’ll always be open for new options to serve at Club Raul. And even though Death and Taxes is or our house European Dark Lager (albeit Tmavé is classed as Dark Czech Lager), there’s just no place for it at Club Raul. It doesn’t make the bar. Cheers!

    We went to a restaurant for a drink and eventually got “tricked” into staying and eating chicken with fries in a pot. Beer is a French IPA… Castor IPA.

    Only additive to stouts I enjoy is coffee. Never had a coffee stout on cask. I’d like that right about now.

    I live about 20 minutes from the brewery. They do produce some really good beers and their brewery tour is brilliant.

    Today's New Breakfast Beer:

    Trip in the Woods (2026) Barrel-Aged Narfoot from Sierra Nevada. 16.9 fl oz cork and cage bottle, purchased 21/02/26 from Sierra Nevada on line. $ 20.00/$ 1.18/fl oz. Stored at 40 degrees F at home. Reviewed 07/03/26, review 3700.
    Final impression and summation: 4.5 Uncredited label art. Excellent! I’ve had both Narwhal and Bigfoot 2026 in the past week, and this is definitely Narwhalish – very mellow and smooth compared with this year’s Bigfoot. Definitely picking up the bourbon barrels, but the caramel is approaching imaginary and the chocolate is just plain absent. Fortunately, I’ve got two more bottles maturing for a later date.

    Our friends live in Cherington & Brailes, so tons of Hooky we went to the pub. I did that tour once, very nice indeed.
