Dave Hoops. You built the beer scene in Duluth. If you set up shop again somewhere else, well, those folks will be lucky and they'll have some extremely fine beer. Enjoy life. Drink beer.
Hi, I was just at Hoops yesterday and my impression was that the decision to close was more due to Dave wanting to retire more than lack of business.

Damn! Wonder if they're planning on staying in Duluth. Real nice beers. Parking kinda sucks at their current location. I hope they keep brewing.
Lake of the Woods brewing in Warroad is closing. This one hits me hard because I stopped there pretty much every year when heading to the Angle. https://www.facebook.com/lowbrewcoMN We announce with a sense of sadness and gratitude the closing of our Warroad, Minnesota location. We are grateful for the memories made over this 9-year endeavor and would like to thank our colleagues, the Warroad community, and all distributors, businesses and patrons who supported the Lake of the Woods Brewing Co brand across Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Iowa, Montana, and Wyoming. The Warroad taproom will remain open through Saturday, February 7th. That being said, our handcrafted brews will continue to be available at our Kenora and Winnipeg taproom locations. Last but not least, we are extremely excited for the future experience/endeavor slated to fill these iconic walls of 104 Main Ave… stay tuned for future announcements.
Lucky Brewing (Virginia, MN) commented on an old Facebook post that they are “looking at mid April” for opening.
From insider info... Headflyer is closing its taproom in a couple months. They still will keg and can... And... Dangerous Man will be moving in.
It's official: Hello friends of HeadFlyer, After nearly a decade together, the time has come for us to pivot our operating model. What began truly as a Dream in Amy and Neil’s garage, grew into something far bigger and more meaningful than we ever imagined and we are so incredibly proud of what we have accomplished! Over the past 10 years, our lives have changed in many ways, and with that how we operate HeadFlyer will also change. On April 5, we will be shutting off the lights for the last time and closing our beloved NE Minneapolis taproom. However, HeadFlyer beer isn’t going anywhere! We will continue developing new delicious beers and keeping our OG favorites in rotation, distributing to liquor stores, bars, and restaurants, but our beautiful taproom will no longer operate as HeadFlyer. We cannot thank our incredible staff enough! They have been the heart and soul of this place from day one, and none of this would have been possible without their passion, dedication, and spirit. To our loyal customers and community…. you are what made this journey so unforgettable. Your support, especially through some very tough years in Minneapolis, has meant more to us than we can ever fully express. This decision is so difficult because of you and the community that grew within these walls. So, let’s celebrate what we’ve built together! Over the next month+, we’ve got a packed lineup of fun collaborations, events, and Wolves games to watch with all of you! So please come raise a glass with us and help close out this chapter in style. With every ounce of gratitude, Amy, Neil & Austin
Dang. Might still be able to make it there b4 they close the TR. Wonder what the timeline is for Dangerous Man to dig in.
More of one of my favorite taprooms than beer and they were Timberwolves fans . , loved the building and 5Watt coffee. HeadFlyer states they will still can and distribute to bars . Will DM contract brew the HF brews or will HF have an auxiliary site to brew?
The Beard is Back: Dangerous Man Brewing is Returning to Northeast Minneapolis! Dangerous Man Brewing is officially coming home and we are thrilled to announce our return to our Northeast Minneapolis roots with a brand-new taproom! When Dangerous Man closed its original taproom doors it left a pint-sized hole in the heart of Minneapolis. Since then, we’ve been waiting for the right moment to bring the community back together under one roof. That moment is here! Starting this spring, Dangerous Man will take over the brewery and taproom at 861 E Hennepin Ave. This move represents a friendly passing of the torch from HeadFlyer to Dangerous Man, and we couldn’t ask for better partners. Dangerous Man will be doing a quick “DM-style” refresh, and opening the doors to the public later this spring. Expect your favorite flagships, experimental small-batch beers brewed on-site, and that same community-first spirit that started it all. The phoenix rises. We’ll see you soon.
Former Burning Brothers brewer to open S.A.W Brewing in May. https://www.bizjournals.com/twincities/news/2026/03/09/gluten-free-brewery-st-paul.html
Wish them well not far from Blackstack. The neighborhood is rough on the fringe ( still relatively safe) You could do a loop of Lake Monster and Dual Citizen. Not to far from Urban Growler and Bang.
Bent Brewstillery in Roseville is now closed. I'm not sure when the last day was. The owner wanted to retire and tried to sell it.
Hoops Brewing in Duluth closed in February, but there was an article about maybe something is in the works. Nothing concrete yet. https://b105country.com/ixp/164/p/h...9KnASn0mNC85NDUPHe_aem_oc9kbF64H3GncGC4zpF3fw
