I usually post my IPAs in the Northwest or California forums, but since I'm in the neighborhood here's Cali Hop Trip IPA from Altamont Beer Works. Yes, that Altamont. Pineapple and tangerine in the aroma with some alfalfa. Flavors are a little weedy, some citrus, and then apricot, even a little peach. Moderate bitter aftertaste. Some crazy new hops: Tangier, which is supposed to be orange and tangerine, and Ramosa, which I don’t find anything about. Clean and aromatic, light body. Overall this is an interesting hoppy brew with a woody aftertaste but quite sippable.
So, I'm relatively new to BA forums, but not to the joys and splendor of American IPAs. So, I'm Curious- I tried searching forums, but didn't find anything... have there been discussions about Heady and Focal NOT being hazy NEIPAs? I've often/lately seen them charactized as such. Focal is even identified like that on its main page. Kimmhas always refers to them as "American Double IPAs." While Heady used to be much "chunkier" than now, it was never a 'hazy IPA.' If anything, Alchemist, Fiddlehead, Lawson's, etc., should have their own category of VT IPA. Anyway, any thoughts on this IPA appreciators? Cheers
