    ...and I miss wider distribution of other Bell beers besides the seemingly endless varieties of Tw0-Hearted ales (not that those are bad beers to have, but there are more great beers - still - from Bell's other than IPAs)...

    It’s a pretty low ABV beer, depending how you can handle booze you may need indeed many Jupiler.

    Rifling thru some old parachute bags and tackle boxes looking for cobalt finishing nails. Found 'em and also these stainless steel #10 2" self tapping square drive wood screws. Also 3.25 inch...like 30 of 'em. Not cheap. I think I used 'em when hanging slot wall at a drum shop in Saint Paul yrs ago....I think. Odd. Stainless is like food grade, hospital, agriculture, wet environment, etc.
    Anyways, this beer rocks. Super smooth & really mellow. 2nd one!
    Hammerherart Hokan's Brown Ale 6.4%

    ...a new beer from today's beer run while also out by office supplies, dog supplies, plus ingredients for tonight's home-made pizza (gotta make the pizza dough soon)...also a new (to me) small stogie while I front-load a bit (as Mrs. BeerGoot is eating with former work colleagues and Oscar and I enjoy evening bachelor freedoms)...

    look: 3.5 | smell: 4.25 | taste: 4.75 | feel: 4.5 | overall: 4.5

    Deep, clear brown pour, appears opaque black in the glass; quick, fizzy, large head that quickly recedes to a light tan, fizzy ring inside the glass. Fantastic nose filled with notes of tobacco and dark dried fruits; cinnamon; dark chocolate. Stunning taste; dark chocolate; whiskey, rye spiciness; notes of cherry and dry figs; raisins; tobacco juice; cinnamon and star anise. Heavy body; slick with a slight syrupy quality; lots of alcohol warmth and heat, yet all nicely balanced; sticky.

    Good gawd, but here is another dark beer wonder from Denver. What I find truly interesting is how balanced everything is for such a high ABV beer. The base beers and the multitude of barrels used to create this beer certainly pack a punch, yet it still presents a nice sense of balance with complexity. I certainly feel this beer, while already incredible on many levels, only will improve with a year or more of cellaring.
