I always enjoyed the Introductory threads started by new members and was disappointed when the sub-forum was shut down and locked. Today, I happily noticed a new thread had been posted under “Introduce Yourself” however, upon opening it I could not reply to the OP or even “like” the post. The sub-forum is still showing as being archived. I’m not sure why the sub-forum was closed in the first place, or why this thread suddenly popped up?
I like that "You have insufficient privileges to reply here" bit. Makes me feel like I'm not part of some BA secret society that I might be able to be part of one day in the not so distant future. Is that something? I hope it is.
The "You have insufficient privileges to reply here" is just a moderator/admin thing, so basically yes to your secret society question.
We'll have to deny there's a secret society, but if there were one, when you attain Pooh-Bah status you would be able to see all of the hidden forums and you would receive your Fez. But we'd deny that too, if it were real, which it isn't. In the meantime, remember that the first rule of Karma is "you do not talk about Karma". Which doesn't exist either. Carry on.
I archived it last year as it was barely being used. No one even noticed until now. ...but I could bring it back.
Think it would be worth a go. Encourages conversations with new members, helps steer new members to forums and threads they would be interested in based on their intro and responses. Cool you caught it @LeinenkugelDrinker .
Well, so how someone let themselves in through a back door. https://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/cheers.682832/#post-8334292
Mods see a list of all forums when using the mod tools and I didn't announce the archiving, so @Shanex moved it without knowing.
If that was the case, I wouldn't have archived the forum (for the second time). But I'll give it some thought...
That’s on me hence semi mea-culpa, though without pestering @Todd for no reasons, I’ll let him think about implementing back the New Users/Introduction forum.
