Today, there have been thunderstorms and plenty of rain--and both cats Gracie and Sundae are more than a tad spooked by the unpredictability of McGregor's weather...though both cats were very pleased to help me investigate the day's new beers--a celebration of Ontario's finest craft breweries: First, with Sundae, it's my twenty-second brew from Hamilton's Fairweather Brewing Company--their 9.3% Winter Warmer Strong Beer w/Raspberries, Wildflower Honey, Vanilla & Ginger...

Finally, with Gracie, it's my fifth beer from Cambridge's Wave Maker Craft Brewery--their 6% Moo Milk Stout...

Tomorrow: Three more new beer experiences for me to consider, from the following Ontarian breweries:
--Refined Fool Brewing Co. (Sarnia; my twenty-fourth);
--Rose City Beer Works (nearby downtown Windsor; my thirty-third); and
--Wellington Brewery (Guelph; my eighteenth)...

Taking a brief break from work and grabbed this out of the beer fridge-

It was gifted to me last fall by @GreenBayBA when he hosted Garth and I when we were in Green Bay last November. October? Last year.
Still quite a tasty beer.

Happy hump day ba. Actually worked the day and got done nice and early- so an ot pay day. Another nice spring day, although a bit milder, and of course the sun went away as soon as I got home.

Gonna get into it w/ a few here ba. Power of 2, ddh dipa, sand city- once again,

 

Just city code. We added some electrical upgrades and that kicked open all the doors for municipal permits. Pretty basic but simultaneously slightly overkill. I get it tho. If I ripped out stuff and replaced it exactly with new materials...adding nothing to the OG design, then a permit isn't needed unless you really really want one. Where I live, Plymouth, the city has funds. It's the #1 school district in the state of MN. You'd never know it by looking at me and or my bent-to-fuck posts on BA, but yeah, still part of Hennepin Co. Big city. Actually, the inspector was very polite. He's been here numerous times over the years. He loved the fact that I'm restoring some things in the house and had many Q? for me about my knowledge of it as he is laying into his late FILs house that's about the same age as ours. The plot thickens.

 

1) Drekker Leisure Suits & Laser Beams (5.2%): A Czech Amber lager from North Dakota with flavors of dark malt, amber notes, toasted and roasted flavors.
versus
2) Half Acre Ridge Tree (4.5%): A Czech Dark Lager from Chicago with flavors of earthy dark grains, cocoa, bitter and roast. (Mismatched the two blind)

Czech lager battle. First Drekker with a Czech Amber. Dark grains and lightly roasted notes. Hints of amber malts. Complex and excellent representation of the style.
Next Half Acre with a Czech Dark. Similar pour. More earthy flavors. Less roasty and bitter. Overall more similar than I anticipated.
Winner: Drekker Leisure Suits & Laser Beams
