Dark brown pour, clear, appears opaque black in the glass; thick, dense head, tan colored and long-lasting. The smell wafts notes of milk chocolate, cocoa; mild grain char and vanilla. The taste greets you with chocolate and cocoa tones with a soothing whiskey sensation filtering up towards the finish; light, earthy spices pop up; cinnamon. Heavy, sticky mouthfeel; lush and velvety.

I must say, this edition is much like the 2018 release. I gave a slight bump in the appearance, but for my money (and RN can have more of mine for more of this beer), this thing is a killer!

Dark body, thin and wispy light tan head. Deep roasted grain and whiskey barrel smell; mocha. Cocoa and tobacco flavors; subtle bourbon. Heavy body; smooth and chewy; velvety.

...smoking wild boar meat again (courtesy of a neighbor)...brined and ground black pepper on a small ham, mustard binder with my generic smoking dry rub for some roast parts...

 

...hey, Papa Pierick...!!!...tried some Donker a three or four months back...had never seen it before, but loved the stuff...also picked up a lot of chocolate and cocoa notes...good stuff...
