$30 Lawson's 4pk is definitely overpriced by that store or wholesaler, because they should run under $20. Could be city prices and gouging based on hype and exclusivity. Things like that I would try to find the place with the cheapest price if I knew that was a fresh drop. I check beer on DoorDash and ubereats sometimes, then you just have to check the freshness at the store lol.
Oof, that's rough, I'm sorry! I'm selling the Double Sunshine at $21.49 at the moment, and I feel that's really pushing it (though it's a little lower margin-wise than I'd prefer!)
At least in my area they do Alcohol deliveries now too, along with grocery, convenience and traditional food restaurants. So you can look up specific beers or browse a certain store's inventory on there and compare prices with other places. Living near a city there could be dozens of different retail stores selling beer/wine/liquor/etc on the delivery apps.
I feel like back in the day I'd spend forever in the beer aisles. 30-45 minutes at least. What's new, what's different, who just entered the local market, what seasonals are out, etc. Not so much anymore. I usually have a style or broad category (Belgian Abbey, IPA, Stout/porter, etc.) and I just look for whatever seems fresh. Instead of looking for new, I default to the places I know I can trust now. Give me the places large enough to have real QA/QC.
I try to set price limits, but like Joel said in Risky Business: "Sometimes you have to say, what the fuck."
