Jon Fishman in Bittersweet Motel Doc caught red handed sipping an Otter Creek Pale Ale…a long lost classic beer.

You can see the label as he sips, but if you know, you know…

...Lagunitas had a run of several Frank Zappa album label beers about 15 years ago...I still have two or three of the bottles...

Oliver had a series of beers with doom metal bands years ago. Speed of Darkness was my favorite.

Dave Witte (best known from Municipal Waste) has done collabs with Tired Hands and 3 Floyds. Not just lending a the name, actually had a hand in what the beer would be.

The Motorhead beers and spirits were underwhelming, especially at the price, but I had to get them.

Don't forget the Ska Brewing session ipa, "The Aggrolite" 'collab' with the Aggrolites ska/reggae band.

The booze got a hold of Allan sadly.

Iron Maiden's beer is quite good.

When I used to put shows on precovid, I worked with the venues to serve local craft beer. They would have the usuals, I told them you need to add some good stuff. It went over pretty well and they were happy, the brewery was happy. Sold a ton.

Earliest example (well, depending on one's "Craft Beer" definition, I guess )
Janis Joplin and other members of Big Brother & The Holding Company at Anchor in 1966. (From Burkhart's The Anchor Brewing Story).
Though better know for Southern Comfort, photos exist of Janis also drinking Ballantine Ale and Rainier Ale. Not "craft" but not exactly Miller Lite, either.

Nothing ever came of this comment apparently. 1981 - The same year Sierra Nevada released their first commercial beer.
James Taylor: "... my brother Hugh and I have been considering a little undertaking for some years now, and this may be the summer we finally get started on it....We want to open our own brewery on the Vineyard. How does Taylor's Lighthouse Lager sound to you?"

    There was rye in that?
Did not know that as it tasted like a typical Canadien blonde ale (good!) with no rye taste.

Allan Holdsworth is one of my favorite musicians. He also was a big fan of beer, real ales in particular. He even designed a hand pump for ales.

This web page has a few notes from various sources.

I can't quite make out the label, anybody else recognize it?, but apparently Grace Slick enjoys a beer:

It's a fictitious beer. There's a clickable link in my prior post with some details.

I’ve read a lot of rock and roll journalism in my life, and I seem to read the same stuff over and over but this is new to me, I’ve never heard of Boy Howdy before. Thanks for posting and teaching me something new.

Same here. I was a fan of R. Crumb comix and somehow never came across this (either that or I just forgot).

Going through the article, I wasn't surprised to see Joe Walsh (although now a reformed alcoholic) and Ozzy (RIP) enjoying a Boy Howdy!

The article also reminded me about Dave Mustaine's "collaboration" with Unibroue on À Tout Le Monde.
