First (Brown) Shugga' and now Hop Stoopid. Kudos to Lagunitas for bringing back some of these beers. Here is the Hop Stoopid label for anyone interested Seems not. Well, they have a 2026 label for The Waldos' Special Ale, anyway.
It was in my rotation back in the day (along with Stone IPAs). Excited about Waldo's also being released this year.
Likewise. Such a great beer at such a great price point. It wasn't always available when I was living back East, but if I was stopping at the store for beer and it was on offer, I'd of course grab a couple bottles (regardless of whatever else I was shopping for). One of the great things about it was that it was extremely popular. So bottles never languished on the shelf. You were virtually certain it was going to be reasonably fresh whenever you saw it. There weren't too many west coast beers you could say that about at the time.
That's great news!! In fact it's Stoopidly Good News! I'm on the lookout for it. Thanks for posting @GetMeAnIPA
I was disappointed that I never saw any Brown Shugga here. Hopefully we'll see this one. Same, I used to get $4 22s of Hop Stoopid at the grocery store after work on Fridays.
Looks like this is hitting Chicago area shelves this week. Keep an eye out in your area, if interested.
Any east coast sightings yet? I’ll be excited to try some for first time in many years. Was never a favorite but enjoyed it for sure.
Snatched a 6er at Boonies in Moyock NC this past weekend. They were flying though it. I half half the 6er left.
I saw it in bombers years ago and never picked it up. I just saw it for 11.99 a 6 pack and decided to pick it up. My verdict is that its good for what is but what is, is just not going to be among my top styles of beer. So its basically a one and done for me. Not because its bad but because the style isnt one of my favorites. Just is what it is I guess. Great thing about beer is that there are many styles to pick from and enjoy.
It’s been 14 years since I’ve had this so my memory could be off but I remember this being a crisp hop bomb. The one I had today was so sweet and malty with musty old hops. Definitely not the same beer as the $4 bombers from 20 years ago.
