Happy Friday, Advocates. Drinking Split Squad, a saison brewed with malted sunflower seeds. From Is/Was Brewing in collaboration with Revolution. Pretty darn good.

You have really made me want some Strohls! Haven’t seen it here in 30 years!!!

 

We found a local cidery, Electric City Cider Works. I know, not beer, but still enjoyed in the same spirit. Pretty tasty ciders.

At Helen Fitzgerald’s Pub & Grill after my son’s volleyball game. Their beer menu is on Untappd and my first 2 choices the were out of and I found out that they were out of the second one when the waitress said, “the bartender thought you might like this.” Well, I haven’t had this one in over 10 years. It’s still mid, as the kids say.

 

MBC Spring - Kölsch style ale bottled 3/20/26 - delicious!

I haven’t had that MBC beer in a long time. Hard to find in Richmond at least where I shop.

It just dropped here today, they hadn't even put it out yet - my local beer guy grabbed me a bottle from the back room. It's worthwhile to have a good relationship with your beer purveyor

I liked it better than what it was rated. I will buy it again if I see it. There were just a few bottles left on the shelf.

 

Having a Be Hoppy next up as I watch the UConn women start to pull away. You don’t have to like them, but you have to respect the consistent greatness

Nice - I've seen it at the beer store in Wormtown so maybe I will grab a bottle. If I do then I will also need to grab a Singha for memories of when I was in Thailand. Got drunk as hell on that beer more than once while I was over there.
