    Weltenburger Kloster Asam Bock 7.3%

Another delicious Bavarian doppelbock. I'm wondering if Weltenburger beers will continue to make their way to the US after their acquisition by Schneider Weisse.

Enjoying a 2025 Troegs Triple Nator. Dark baked bread that is slightly toasted, fruity esters that give me a touch of fig and prunes. Finishes sufficiently hopped to balance. Nicely done!
    Cheers!

I split from this thread and started a thread for maibocks. The style is in season now and needs its own place for discussion. But here's the one that I had tonight:

Our Lady Maibock from New Oberpfalz Brewing. It's a good start to my maibock season.

I think Doppelbocks just do not get any better than Celebrator. In fact, I think I’m gonna go pour one right now!

I just did and am very glad I did. I also realized, to my shame, that I’d never yet reviewed this beer — an omission I’ve now corrected. I’m realizing this was one of the beers I’d long enjoyed before I began reviewing beers. My cellar will never be without a four-pack of it.

Riggs Maibock, poked with a hot iron . Good depth of caramel flavor compared with the unpoked beer, with a smoother mouthfeel due to the release of carbonation. The silky head of foam left lots of sticky lacing top to bottom. Next time I'll heat the poker over a charcoal fire to make sure it's red hot. Overall, though, this wasn't a bad result.

Earlier today I drank a 16oz can of The Goatman's Oath from Noble Roots loacted in Green Bay WI. A single dunkles bock at 6.6%

Taste is caramel, chocolate, and roast, some people might call it a heavy toasted but to me it's more of a roast. A little bread/grain. Some what smooth. It has some sweetness, but also has plenty of bitterness. A hint of dry in the finish.
The mouth feel is ok but not the smoothest and slightly thin.

A OK beer but not sweet enough for me to be called a lager bock.
    I will give it a 3.84/5

Thanks to @GreenBayBA I got to try this one.

    Gilded Bock - Founders

Pretty sweet and strong dose of bourbon. Enjoyable, but not really what one expects from a Bock.

    Sorry -- skimmed the 2025!

So yeah, year old Maibock or 4 month old Maibock?

@CarolinaCardinals will confirm for sure, but the Ayinger Maibock I've seen on the shelves was packaged either November/December of 2025. Ayinger's code is YDDD, and the Y was 5 and the DDD was in the 300's. I didn't look it up right away because I was bit put off that it was likely packaged in November.

At least the HB I bought was packaged in January--more palatable, along with more beer and a cheaper price to boot.

Okay, so it's still the old coding -- not an actual MM/DD/YY date like others.

Noble Roots The Goatman's oath Dunkles Bock 6.6%
Quite tasty, a tad on the lighter bodied side, good dark bread notes and well balanced bittersweet. Not really dry at all. Devilishly drinkable.
