Thanks @ChicagoJ for opening the bar! @jkblr - a few years back I was doing an Irish whisky distillery tour in Ireland - when the comparison sampling came around (various aged Scotch whiskey vs Irish whisky), everybody sampling preferred Scotch over the Irish whisky. No point in the tale, just a random download as my brain degenerates - maybe too much Scotch whiskey for me!

Today's New Breakfast Beer:



Coven (Ghost Coven) from Adroit Theory. Four pack of 16 fl oz cans, ordered 12/08/25 from Adroit Theory online, $ 31.87/$ 0.498/fl oz. Stored at 40 degrees F at home. Reviewed 31/03/26, review 3717.
Final impression and summation: 3.75 (After deducting 0.25 point for an undated container) Uncredited label art, unfortunate because Adroit Theory labels are intricate and interesting. The flavor is very good but the nose is weak. At 12.5% ABV, this is dangerously easy to drink.

Good morning BAdvocates. I’m crushing the final Lost Coast Brewing Downtown Brown from my six pack. Outstanding brew. Woke up this morning to a steady rain. Funny, last night I watched the local meteorologists talk about how this was going to be a record dry March! Rain is dying down now which is a good thing since I’m planning on playing 9 holes this afternoon.

This beer is extra meh today. The selection at my local store has deteriorated something awful... unless you like nuance lacking hard tea and seltzer. There are some nice banana esters to smell and some warmth, but a slight syrup-like mouth feel. I think ommmegang made the last American triple I cared for... Would I recommend this beer or buy it again?

Back again today with some more Tree House, this one with my new favorite NZ hop Peacharine. Land of the Long White Cloud is floral, fragrant and juicy with fresh peaches and nectarine stone fruit flavors followed by some citrus and tropical fruit. Really great NEIPA. Cheers all!

La Cumbre Disco Flavor IPA from a @beergoot trade which is like a little riverlette. Glad U dug the ST Size 11. The 4pks of that aren't too harsh on the wallet either.
This NM brew is really nice. Indy 500 long dry zest & resinous finish.

 

One of my favorite versions of Box of Rain. MSG 1988. Phil Lesh wasn't involved in writing many songs but this one with Robert Hunter is enough for any career. A beautiful song for his dying dad!

 

Time to bust this out for the next few months. It's so good all Spring and Summer

 

This is delicious. I have a feeling they won't be replacing them after I buy them all... Got to remember to make requests... If not for my sake, then for posterity
