Yuengling at the Testament/Overkill/Destruction show at the Buckhead Theater in ATL.

 

Took a chance on a Gopuff delivery of that and lucked out on a two week old 6er. polished it off just as soon as it arrived. didn't occur to me to save one for later

Pub Ales really are a breed to themselves. These are terrific beers full of body, interesting fruity esters, nutty and delicious. Tadcaster’s Samuel Smith cranks them out too, no short pours here! Samuel Smith is one of the best, since 1758!

Nut Brown Ale is a terrific 5% ABV Pub Ale, and is produced in stone Yorkshire Squares, their version of an open fermentation vat. The open nature of the fermentation really drives a lot of fruity esters in the beer by the yeast. It’s totally old school and totally delish! Cheers!

 

I still get a bottle of wine a month from the Virginia wine club. To be honest, I give most of them to my son-in-law. My bourbon and wine consumption is just a fragment of what it once was.

In Marco Island, FL for spring break with wife's youngest son and two youngest granddaughters. Sipping a 16oz can of Yuengling Traditional Lager. Second time ever having it, and for what it is, it's quite good. Cheers LNBAers.

 

Have a good Tuesday. Just now finishing up Elon Musk by Walter Isaacson as it is due in 3 hours to the library. 4/5 More of a faster paced, many chapter bio from him, 10% of the book covers his life to 2000, and it slows down on time progression from there. Everything I expected, but I did not know about him dating Amber Heard, but that also makes a lot of sense. Only going up to 2023 date of publish, it goes into the Twitter debacle, but there could probably be a second volume written on the last 3 years already.

We are going to go to Aldi tomorrow for groceries since they restock in the middle of the week. I need to do some spring cleaning soon, the kitten nursery room is getting bad in there. Roxie is throwing litter all over the place already. Need to get kitten sized litter boxes too.

2/15/2026 New Belgium imperial Voodoo Ranger. Haven't had it in white before I got the 12 pack last weekend. Great mix of juicy and dank/earthy hops with a clean and toasty malt backbone. Drying resin crispness.

Hate it. Especially since I do all the prep. On Friday I will be breaking down whole top rounds for roasting, portioning cod, slicing ham and getting the veggies and accoutrement prepped. I kind of injected myself into this but no holidays going forward
