The weather cooled significantly and is relatively downright dreary, out here in McGregor--but that doesn't stop both cats Gracie and Sundae from wondering about today's new libations...as we still go through our Spring Cleaning project of going through the duplicates from the past few months--another celebration of Ontarian breweries: First, with Gracie, it's the 6.5% Southern Lights Hazy IPA from Peterborough's Bobcaygeon Brewing Company...

I didn't get to this beer ystrdy and should go get more. Its fab. It's one of those beers that, to me, is astonishingly tasty and has ideal luster. I wanna pummel the beer but simultaneously do not wanna do that because this beer is hittin' on me. Vaa Vaa Voom!

I saw Etta in concert a few yrs b4 she passed w Bobby Murray on guitar and the Tower Of Power B3 organist Roger Smith. Very very tough to top that show. It was like a religious experience.

 

Off the cold medicine, so I can finally have this. Way too many months since I last had Yuengling.

 

Utopia - Babylon IPA

 

Right along here ba. World wide stout, triple decadence 30th anniversary imperial stout, (palo santo wood, let’s get lost whiskey, sa utopias barrels), dogfish head.
Lots going on here. Good chocolate malt w lots of oak, tannins, slightly boozy. Crazy balanced w/ no overbearing barrel. Rather crushable for its abv. This one is worth the try,

Complex, interesting…a very enjoyable beer!

 

Wow, haven't seen Bobcaygeon for a long while - in college we had a friend from Ontario who worked the locks on the Trent-Severn Waterway during the summer, and we'd drive him and his motorcycle there in a van and party for a few days, then pick him up at the end of the season - love that area so much. Also fishing for muskie in Pigeon and Buckhorn Lakes. Cheers!
