https://patch.com/pennsylvania/pittsburgh/celebrated-pittsburgh-brewery-declares-bankruptcy Chapter 11 for this brewery and a bad sign for its survival. I enjoy their Penn Pilsner, Kaiser Pils and Penn Gold. I need to step up and purchase them more often. Hope the link works.
To put a differing perspective on things. Urban Chestnut Brewery (St. Louis) filed for Chapter 11 in 2024 and by all appearances they are doing OK. Maybe Penn will make it through as well? Cheers!
Penn just hasn't been the same since the original owner sold. I stop in on rare occasions but few of their beers live in my beer fridge anymore - although the St Nick and marzen are in there currently. Their hefeweizen used to be a staple. Still a lovely location to grab a pint though. Hopefully they pull through.
