Have a good Saturday. Thanks @LarryV for the zoom hosting last night. I am voting for the Belgian Quad theme for the next call. Fun discussions. I have been up since around 9AM, we had Cookout for dinner at 1AM and then I passed out. I am reading the second half of Five Families by Selwyn Raab: 6/5 stars. Easily one of the best true crime books I've ever read. It has even more interesting facts about the mafia and their assassinations. If they had to kill a "squealer" for blabbing in court, they murdered them and shoved a canary in their mouth as a warning. I am buying a hard copy for sure.

The babies are over 4 weeks old and now are adventurous as hell, they were previously afraid to come out from under the bed, now they are out in the room all the time, even walking into the hallway/stairs. They like the space under the dresser now, but they come out to meet us when we open the door. Roxie is a good mama.


Been trying the sour diesel badder and it's been outstanding. New Belgium imperial Voodoo Ranger to start off the afternoon. strong pine, resin, and citrus rind hop notes balanced by a solid caramel/bready malt backbone. Great old school feeling DIPA. There is no voodoo ranger I didn't like.

Happy weekend all! Well I got a few things done, but not too much—just barely enough to claim that I enjoy this reward. Based on the list of ingredients on the label I’m not quite sure what to expect, but it’s sure to be interesting. Cheers!

Put away my winter jacket, got our the suntan lotion, mowed the high spots on the lawn, and washed and waxed the truck.

CAMEL jerky. Great thing to go with today’s Budweiser Zero. So the next question is how does Bud Zero taste? HA!

OK, next REAL question is how does CAMEL jerky taste? Well, given my druthers, I’d take the Elk or Venison.

Camels are a weird animal as I understand. Stubborn as all heck and when you ride them, the motion makes you seasick. I can remember running the South Oregon sand dunes once thinking about Camels. Luckily I was driving “Mad Max”, this crazy cut-down 4x4 cut-down truck. I can still remember looking down the 200 foot death plunge down those scary hills and hearing the kids in the back…. “Go for it Dad!” I say go get a Camel!

So you can keep your Camels. There’s a reason why there’s no 1.33 lb packs of Camel burger alongside the grass-fed Beef and Buffalo in the artsy-meats section of your local upscale grocer. Pretty average flavor, make sure to order the peppered Camel next trip! Leave it to the locals, they might like it.

 

I've only heard the term Swamp Chicken associated with gator meat but this one is named after a chicken that hung out at their old brewery. Not any real swamps there, but poor drainage all over the place here. My north facing yard is a pond right now, APA, 5.3% ABV.

IDK. Maybe BA has some filter running...it's not directed at me (I hope). I'll try using a different computer using edge vs chrome when I return home. And perhaps gentrification of the site recognizes the word snow flakes as a "culture war term". It's shite. Filters have no context.

 

Good afternoon BAdvocates. Beautiful day here in the 60’s. Been working in the yard most of the day. Now drinking a Gummy Worms Hazy brewed by New Glory Craft Brewery in Sacramento. Solid brew, not an overly sweet, artificial fruit sugar bomb.
