Good evening, all! I meant to do this earlier today, but I didn't get around to it so I decided to bring the show indoors this evening: Riggs Maibock, poked with a hot iron. I heated the iron over a stove burner and it never reached the point of glowing red. I got tired of waiting and poked it anyway. Good depth of caramel flavor compared with the unpoked beer, with a smoother mouthfeel due to the release of carbonation. The silky head of foam left lots of sticky lacing top to bottom. Next time I'll heat the poker over a charcoal fire to make sure it's red hot. Overall, though, this wasn't a bad result.



I was hoping for an all-OG Big Ten Final Four (MSU, Iowa/Illinois, Purdue, Michigan). At least we got two, and I have Michigan winning it. Overall, though, my bracket... well, let's put it this way:
