    Happy Easter Sunday to everyone!
Here is Year of the Fire Horse Chocolate Porter from Lucky Envelope Brewing in Seattle.

Aroma is confusing and a total spice bomb. I think cinnamon is rarely a good idea in beer, but here it is with smoked salt. Pleasant sudsy mouthfeel. Quite sweet and salty as well. Then it's quite sharp with bitter chocolate for the aftertaste. Overall it's interesting and whacky enough, but maybe a little tiresome flavor. But cheers to all and hope you are enjoying your weekend!

Thanks for the open @mactrail ! Was just about to post myself after completing my review, with a healthy portion still in my glass.

Hope everyone has a great Sunday, including those who celebrate Western Easter.

Back with my final 2025 BCBS variant. This one is very boozy, at its peak enjoyment when the base also shined about 15-20 minutes after opening. Full New Beer Sunday #1102 take linked here, full review linked below.

Roosevelt Sykes, “The Honeydripper”, featured in the 2 AM hour of Blues Before Sunrise. You might know this song better performed by Brother Ray Charles.

Happy Easter, Frohe Ostern or joyeuses Pâques everyone.

La Goudale. It’s cloudy, light rain but I don’t care as I’m drinking and it’s looking up to be much nicer starting tomorrow weather wise:

Got plenty of comments about the handsome young lad yesterday. Thanks again. If you guys keep on telling him how cute/adorable he’s is he may start to believe it.

    Cheers.

I hear baby’s crying, and I think to myself, what a wonderful world:

Great song! And Nathan won't let it go to his head, if you delay teaching him English or Hanglish. That said, I'm sure he is even more bombarded with similar praise en Francais.

I'm limited to one self imposed at home beer a day most days, but in addition, I'd leap at the chance at a Seattle Porter, even with your cinnamon warning. I pull a lot of BA beers, but that is primarily to clear my backlog over the years. Porters are much lighter and many times on par or better than a beer 2 - 4 times stronger.

Good day BAs! Thanks @mactrail for opening the bar!

    Today's New Breakfast Beer:

Gratitude (Rye Barrel Aged) from East End Brewing. Four pack of 12 fl oz cans, purchased 02/04/26 from Franklin Beer, Franklin, PA. $ 24.50/$ 0.510/fl oz. On room temperature shelf at distributor, stored at 40 degrees F at home. Reviewed 05/04/26, review 3719.
Final impression and summation: 4 (After deducting 0.25 point for an undated container) Uncredited label art. Possibly the best brew I’ve ever had from East End – head and shoulders above their basic barleywine Gratitude. This actually has great flavor and aroma as opposed to their basic barleywine. However, it does lack the excellent lacing of the base beer.

Cheers and good morning, BAs! Celebrating our 2nd's 18th birthday today: just like that, my partner's birth kids are both adults. Wild.

Anyway, enjoying a breakfast CBS. :grinning:

On a separate note, I'm back on the laptop, as my desktop has crashed hard. I can't even get it to access the windows recovery tool (although I can get it to load BIOS). If anyone is good at remote troubleshooting, I wouldn't mind a BM for some assistance. :grinning:

Edit: catching up on last night's thread.

@russpowell yep, we move in late June/early July! Hoping I eventually move back here, but we have no idea how long we will be in Hawai'i.

@tasterschoice62 it was (a feast)! I used to struggle with pan-frying chicken, but I've got it down at this point, and my tomato sauce game is on point - ragu, bolognese, marinara, pomodoro. The only thing I forgot is the ....... parmigiana lol. It's in the name! And I even have some parmigiana rind that I intended to toss into the sauce for extra creaminess. I also forgot to make up some garlic bread. Oh well; it was freaking divine, regardless - and I've got some leftovers that I can grate some parm onto. :grinning:

    Cheers!

Hey, I might be able to help a bit, especially since you can still get into BIOS. That usually means the system itself is still responding.

A couple quick things you can check:

Do you see your main drive listed in BIOS
If you change boot order, does anything different happen
When you try to boot, does it freeze, loop, or show any kind of error
Did anything change right before this happened, like an update or new hardware

Those should help narrow down whether it is a boot issue or something deeper.

Unfortunately I am a bit limited on time today so I may not be able to go much further right now, but if you update with what you find I can try to see how else we can troubleshoot.

Also that meal sounds awesome. Bolognese, marinara, pomodoro, that is a strong lineup. Using a parm rind in the sauce is such a great move for depth too. Leftovers with fresh grated parm might honestly end up even better.
