What beer are you drinking now? #4916

Knotted Root Opacity (7.6% canned 2/25/26): A NEIPA from Colorado with Citra, Nectaron, Riwaka for flavors of pineapple, passionfruit, gooseberries.

First try from Knotted Root. This one has some interesting hops with Riwaka and Nectaron. Lots of hop intensity here. Passionfruit zest, pineapple, lemon, gooseberries. It's zesty and extremely dry on the finish. I bet this settles down nicely with age. Impressive IPA. The first photo is this morning's view 4.5 miles into my Easter sunrise run and race training. 608 Brewing - A Bitter Stop IPA

This is a beer from a brewing company located in the Galatsi neighborhood of Athens, Greece, and not from the company of the same name in La Crosse Wisconsin. Apparently the name of the Greek company comes from the number of the local bus that served the neighborhood, while the US company is named after the phone area code of the town.

Home now after lunch with the family (mom, sister, nephew, brother in law was sick), and a side trip to Wisconsin. Time for some Smoke on the Porter at Beaver Island Brewing.

 

I'm currently finishing up the second Meditations album from Coltrane, which I don't think was Sanders' first appearance on an album...but it was his first major album especially along side Coltrane. Back when I cared about reading reviews...which I read a LOT back then, I came across one for Sanders on Meditations...I can still basically remember it verbatim..."I don't know what Sanders is doing, but whatever it is, its loud"

 

Nice lunch with the Fam, plus a girlfriend & then much needed nap. Son#2 got sun poisoning over Spring Break in Panama City. He's the smart one of the two. Since he's Thai thats a whole lot of sun. Herse's a pic when he was hanging with us adults, the one without the shades
