Searched the forum for intel and the midt recent posts were from 5+ years ago. Will be out that way this summer, near Blakeslee but able to travel a bit. Any recommendations are welcomed! TY!

Not too far from Blakeslee is Hairy Guys in Jim Thorpe. I’ve only been there once but the beer was good and it was a cool little place to hang out.

Just north of Jim Thorpe is Bright Path brewing. I really enjoyed their dark lager called Coalport, and also liked their theme in general - flavorful beers that are all 4% or 5% abv.

Which direction are you coming from? Wallenpaupack Brewing makes a nice variety. Nothing has really stood out as extraordinary but they are worth stopping in if you are close. Not sure I would drive the hour from Blakeslee just for that though. Their "Wake Zone" is a bit closer to where you arw staying and has some games but I have never been there.

Depending how far you are willing to travel, Sabatinis in West Pittston is one of your best options. About 40 minutes away, has about 30 taps and probably biggest bottle and can section in area. Also great pizza in my opinion. A little closer you have Mt Pocono Beverage and Resort Beverage, both have decent selections but think some of their inventory can sit for a while.

Yes, they have 2 buildings next to each other. One is the bar/bottleshop and other is the pizza restaurant

In that case, maybe map out how much longer it would take to stop there on your way in.

If you go to the brewery, also check their store. They carry some beer brats made by a local company that are really good.

Agreed - last time I was camping up above Scranton we picked up a couple of varieties of the Alpine sausages to grill on the camp fire and they were excellent.

A bit of a drive but what isn't in NEPA. Neither a brewery or a store, the tap at Humboldt beer depot outside of hazelton. What a treat. Brewery wise, Barley Creek and Breaker were decent a couple years back when we were there as was Selinsgrove but that is a drive (worth it for the pumpkin ale and food).

It's more of a halfwayish stopping point, but if you like IPA Autodidact isn't a far detour off 80 in NJ. Pretty awesome stuff, probably better than what you'd found out at your final destination.

I honestly couldn't find a brewery I was excited to go to in that area. Kind of a dud.
