I finished my night with this TXPA from Real Ale and slept like a baby.

 

Hanging out in Southwestern Bulgaria today. This is a country that during the pandemic had the lowest vaccination rate in the EU, at only 19%, a number that would give some of our fellow BAs a massive boner.

I'm currently in the sprawling metropolis of Dolna Gradeshnitsa.

To begin, a classic: Shumensko Pivo. The city of Shumen may be on the other end of the country but it's a big hit around these parts.

Let's go for something more local, and a new beer for me. Mlado Pivo translates to 'Young Beer". Unpasteurized lager with a super tight "best by" date.

It was snowing here a bit ago - yuck - now the sun is coming out - going to hike this afternoon once it "warms" up to the mid-40's - gotta get me some early spring ramps! I am going on a "rampage"!

Important question - is it wrong to drink a different Founders stout from their "Breakfast Stout" "mug" - no, I did not think so - CBS works in these serious situations...

Trying this weizenbock from Tree House called Restless. Nice beer and a great style I don’t have often enough. Feels a bit heavier and maybe darker or richer than a typical German import with comparable flavors of toasty brown banana bread, chocolate, creamy wheat malt, caramel apple, dried fruits and peppery clove spice. Cheers all!
