What beer are you drinking now? #4918

My tour of the Balkans continues with some Albania (and soon Kosovo).

Starting with the local lager from the city of Korçë, named Traditionale Bjonde. A very grainy lager but fairly tasty and refreshing.

Birra Tirana - Premium Pilsner

Another Albanian macro: Birra Tirana. Not sure what the effing deal is but this Albanian beer is contract-brewed in Barcelona and imported to Albania (it even has an import sticker). Anyway, it tastes horrible. Thin, without flavor, and worse than even any AAL I can think of. The words "Premium Pilsner" are used way too freely here. Kinda like "Stable Genius".

Much like their ESB, but a little zestier, with strong alcohol and raisin. Rich, but bitter. Balanced enough to make me want a second

Typical shoulder weather here as it was 80+ a couple of days ago and yesterday and today we've got a possibility of snow flurries - some local areas (higher elevations) have actually had snow, we (lower elevation, down by the river) got missed, so far.

Today's New Breakfast Beer:



Irish-Style Imperial Stout (2026) from Boulevard Brewing. Mixed six pack of 12 fl oz bottles, purchased 02/04/26 from Franklin Beer, Franklin, PA. $ 23.00/$ 0.319/fl oz. On room temperature shelf at distributor, stored at 40 degrees F at home. Reviewed 07/04/26, review 3720.
Final impression and summation: 4 Uncredited label art. Overall, a decent take on the Irish-style dry stout; to my taste, far better than Guiness. With a lower alcohol content, this could easily be classified as an Irish Dry Stout.

Peja - Pilsner

It's not every day that you get to drink a beer from Kosovo. Well, unless you are from Kosovo or Albania. Here's Kosovo's flagship beer: Peja. It's alright, although a bit too light for my taste.

 

#IPA. The formidable IPA from To Øl City.

Howdy there BAs. Today seems like a Pilsner/Pilsener/Pils kind of day around my little bar. This one is from a @beergoot trade Peculier Pils Bav-style. Thanks buddy! Quite tasty indeed. Using a Becher because my Pokals are 16oz. Cheers!!

 

Noice! was that last beer. Let's keep chooglin' right along here with yet another new Pils. This one from @GreenBayBA at the MPLS bottle share. I wish I could have stayed a bit longer but I had those pets to mind. BTW that favor will earn me some beers <^> here's 3 Sheeps Shorts & Hoodies Beer Garden Pilsner
Must be a new sub-style warming its buns up against American Pilsner...

I had forgotten that beer ever existed even though i drank tons of sixers of it 5+ years ago
