    Good day Minnesota and Illinois!

Drinking La Charnue IPA. Quite the decent French brewery located in the greater area of Paris. Very good:

Veronique Sanson. Unlike maybe Mylène Farmer I doubt she’s known to many here…

    Cretan Brewery - Harma Dunkel

From the island of Crete, this brewery has been making some cool no nonsense lagers, packaged in fairly unique bottles. I believe @Shanex may have sampled a beer or two from them while on the island?

This is pretty tasty, with a somewhat coffee-y start and a crisp bitterness.

Brinks from Rethymnon and Salo might have been the only two major Cretans craft I’ve tried, along another from the tiny village where we stayed though I got the “tourist price” and 7€ for a 500ml bottle was a bit over the top. Cheers!

Ain't no way I'm finishing this whole bottle reservoir of beer, but I gotta say that I love the name. It means "of the mountains/forest" in pretty much half the slavic langauges.

Solo is a great company. Probably the best quality beers in the country.

Moving on to something more eclectic. This tiny brewery from the Greek city of Larissa has been making some really good IPAs, with price tags that are eye-watering by Greek standards. They are worth the occasional purchase.

    Happy sunny Thursday BAs

Beautiful morning here on the north coast - got a pleasant hike in with Miss Emma, getting ready for some afternoon chores - and Friday I am meeting up with my gf and daughter for a wildflower ramble in the Arc of Appalachia preserve in southern Ohio - should be spectacular!

This local coffee stout is hitting the spot NOW!

A rare lunchtime beer for me but it's a very quiet day and I'll be taking a 4+ mile walk after lunch. Varitage Brewing's Holiday on Broad Street, a chocolate and mint Porter. Cheers!

Trillium & De Garde - Habitat: Reflet, a blend of oak aged spontaneously fermented wild ales from each brewery made in a gueuze style. Smells a bit vinous and fruity with bruised apple, apricot, acidic lemon, earthy, natural and wild with peppery cinnamony clove-like baking spices and a leathery streak with old woody oak, toasty hay, wheat malts and dry aged hops.

Tastes real complex and tart, vinous, cidery, a bit acetic with notes of apricot, acidic lemon, bruised apples, pear, orange citrus peel, dusty old woody oak barrel, subtle leather, slight barnyard horseblanket funk, toasty hay, straw, biscuity wheat malts, multigrain, peppercorn baking spice, and dry aged earthy herbal grassy floral hops. Feels medium plus bodied, creamy smooth with moderate carbonation.

It's always a bit hard for me to put in words the flavors in these types of beers, though by now with my robotic reviewing methods I sort of have it down pat what I interpret most of the flavors to be. I sometimes still wonder how best to accurately describe what I'm tasting to not make things sound so similar to each other. Complex tasting beers like this can be a challenge to pinpoint certain details in them, I always enjoy the experience though of drinking beers like this and contemplating what I actually taste. Cheers all!
