Having a Second Fiddle after a demanding but fruitful day of work ..

 

Her Way or the Highway, a West Coast Style Pilsner brewed by Twin Elephant Brewing a local brewery. I have never heard the term West Coast Pilsner before but assumed it meant hoppy Pilsner. I was right. It is also an excellent refreshing beer. I’ll give it a write up this weekend.

Lazy day workout wise, ran multiple errands with Mrs. CC and now having Black Colossus from 3 Floyds - a barrel aged imperial stout with pasilla & ancho peppers, vanilla, cocoa, cinnamon, coffee and lactose. I have no doubt the base beer is fine but i am very disappointed in the brewing teams overuse of cinnamon. If it weren't for the pepper heat i would not be able to discern this brew had these additions. Oh well, first world problems in the gilded beer age.

I bought 3 more 12 packs of this on clearance today. I think I am going to be celebrating for a long time.

 

Quite frankly, it's intimidating to hold it!

 

An old school local beer, Cambridge Amber from the old CBC here, canned 4 months ago. Really nice beer, always a fan of malty amber ales and this one hits with dark toasted malts, some chocolate, caramel, toffee, molasses, dark fruits, dried fruit, and earthy floral piney hops. Cheers!

After relaxing, not worrying and having a couple of homebrews (home brewers should understand that quote-C.P,) time for one picture worthy.

I normally don't drink much or partake in the combustibles while brewing, but fudge it, I'm getting down today!
