Well this is an interesting pairing. The boldness of each mellows the other. And yet, the flavors still shine.

 

Very nice! Stilton, right? Those needle marks are so sexy.

 

Back from my sons 10u baseball scrimmage. They came up just short against maybe the best team in the league, 10-8. He was all smiles though, first over the fence home run for him.

Last years Endolith is freaking great.

 

It almost was a Stilton, sooo nearly pulled that one. The caraway flavor of a Stilton is great with big barleywine type beers. This one is actually a St. Pete’s Select Blue, and almost as good.

 

Of their barleywines I only rated higher Prodigailty and Mother of All Bricks.

 

My review is from the first batch and I gave it good marks. This latest batch is a good deal better imo, have you tried it?

Not familiar with that one, hope I see it someday. A sweet, creamy gorgonzola with a roasty stout is my favorite beer and cheese pairing.

 

Jealous!

 

Not horribly far depending on where in Pennsylvania you live.

I live about 50 miles from Revolution. The only Deep Woods beers we see Deth's Tar and Straight Jacket. That being said I am really enjoying this from '23.

 

Revolution Straight Jacket 2025 BBA English Barleywine, 15% ABV. I rated this 4.63 last year. Not nearly as good as VSOJ, but still world class. Hey this is two in a row, anyone want to join @ZebulonXZogg and I?

 

Ok, twist my arm. Price factored in, my favorite barleywine. Only got a case and a half of the 2025



This is as good as vsoj imo.
