Done with work for the week, time for a beer.

 

1) Other Half Daydream in Green (8.1% canned 12/29/25): A NEIPA from NY with Citra, Motueka, Wai-iti for flavors of peach, mango, apricot, grapefruit, herb
versus
2) Other Half Cream of Broccoli (7.9% canned 2/9/26): A NEIPA from NY with Cascade, Simcoe, Mosaic, Halilertau Blanc for flavors of orange, pineapple, white grape, floral berry. (Correctly matched the two blind)

Happy Friday BeerAdvocates. An Other Half Oat Cream Battle. First is Daydream in Green. Great hop combo here. Hitting it's age a bit, but smooth and creamy.
Next is Cream of Broccoli. My first try at this. Great hop combo with some distinct Cascade and Simcoe for some stonefruit and pine resin plus some Mosaic and Hallertau Blanc for floral berry and grape notes. Amazing cream and complexity. I gave this a solid 4.25 all around.
Winner: Other Half Cream of Broccoli

Actually, that's a big deal. When our grandson was born in October 2025 we had to discuss how we would all be addressed. I am "grand dad" because I did not want to be "grandpa" (for personal reasons) and our son-in-law's dad wanted a different name. It all works!

I made a trip to Tröegs in search of the non-barrel aged Tripel-Nator. I'll have to check the gift shop on the way out.
I got the obligatory sampler ,
Hopback Amber Ale
Jovial Dubbel
Flying Mouflon Barleywine style ale
Dark Lager
The Flying Mouflon is definitely the standout in this lineup.
