I think you're right, according to my image search it's a common garter snake.

The item in the image is a Common Gartersnake (Thamnophis sirtalis).
    • Appearance: This species is highly variable, commonly featuring three yellow, olive, or greenish stripes, though some individuals may appear more checkered or spotted.
    • Habitat: They are widely distributed throughout Massachusetts and are found in nearly every terrestrial and wetland habitat.
    • Behavior: They are diurnal (active during the day) and are among the most abundant and commonly seen snake species in the state.
    • Safety: Garter snakes are non-venomous and generally harmless to humans.

You... .might be right on that call. Bull snakes are usually more yellow with less brown inflection on the back. Huh. Look at you!

We are right around mid-game now. chess.com says our game is a vienna game: falkbeer variation.

Having another chelada from the mix 12 pack. All of them are great. Big mango juice and balanced chili pepper and a bit of salinity. Crisp clean refreshing finish.

Hey @ANIMOUL - I'll see your Oops and meet you with a double Oops. I shouldn't but I am.

    Breakside Thriving Metropolis IPA
I'll admit - this is now more my style, there's a brighter, less gritty tone to the hops here, and the backbone is graceful rather than cumbersome.

And there was much REJOICING. Tune for @beergoot and @champ103

    Cheers.

I read the book as a young lad. It was horrible. And yes what a rotten plot. The paperback was even worse than the movie (simply dull) plus the book had that 70s smell...and then I read Jaws by Peter Benchley. :joy::nerd:

Picked up this SN seasonal earlier today as well. The only thing missing is....well, summer. Hey-oh. Well, it's gonna be in the 70s here tomorrow so maybe we're inching closer anyway. Cheers all.

Bull snake: Yellow or tan base with dark blotches; pattern looks “patchy” or spotted.

Garter snake: Usually has one or three stripes (yellow, orange, or greenish) running the length of the body.

    This snake has no stripes

    Bull snake:

Will hiss loudly, flatten its head, and vibrate its tail to mimic a rattlesnake.

Head becomes more triangular when threatened.

    Garter snake:

Much more timid; usually tries to flee.

Small, narrow head; no dramatic defensive display.

This snake assumed the pit snake type of behavior and did not scurry away.

this is a young bull snake!
