Where are you staying in Vienna? I lived in Meidling when I did my study abroad year there. That was roughly 1 million years ago. I remember drinking a lot of Gösser and Ottakringer.

Good morning BAdvocates. I was given a couple of these Coors Banquets, now I gotta try and polish off them in addition to the Kona Big Waves I bought for others, but unfortunately were left untouched . Been a few years since I last had one of these “Buckskins”. Still my favorite out of the three flagship BMC beers. At least it’s drinkable!

Triple Bottom - Pub Ale


Landed on American soil at around noon-ish. I turn on my phone while still on the runway and I see a message from my beer dealer: "Hey, you coming to the Fest today? Wife can't make it, have an extra ticket. Lmk".

I'm like, eff me. Haven't slept in over 38hrs, my back hurts like a MF from back-to-back flights in airplane seats not made for my 6'3" frame, I reek of OBBO (Overripe Balkan Body Odor), and my shirt has a huge stain from the soggy breakfast burrito I sloppily ate on the plane a couple of hours ago.

I reply and ask him if the offer still stands (he sent the text in early AM). Fest started at 12:30 so realistically I could only make it after 2:30 at the earliest. He still has the extra ticket. Game on. This has "bad idea" written all over it.

 

I apologize for posting this fruit smoothie. Wait, the can says it is a "Mythical collaboration between Ill Will and Mortalis”. 6.5% whatever it is. Cheers.



Roller derby was fun last night

 

Surly Double Barrel Darkness RIS, 12% ABV. I rated this 4.46 in 2024. This has held up well. This variant was more limited than the other variants. My favorite variant is Lokigator.

 

The Fens
Trillium Brewing Company

 

Off Square Hop Drive WC IPA (Chinook, Dolicita, Cascade, BRU-1, Mosaic). Crisp, clean, dry, and slightly bitter. Aroma and flavor don’t bring too much especially considering the hop bill, but I did just have a Tree House DIPA before this. A hard act to follow. Still a decent westie.
