Work was interesting today. Someone left for another job & there was so much joy, especially for me. Work will be a little harder for a bit, but not by much. I may even consider new retirement options, now that everyone is rowing in the same direction.

Jimsonweed! That’s the other random poisonous shit that will grow here. Crazy stuff.

OK, back to my hacked Flying Dog Honey Double Dog. I’m going to email them. They need to brew a barrel aged Double Dog with honey. It will be fantastic. Cognac barrel aged Honey Double Dog.You read it here first.

Cellar dive again, got a lot of Founders BA offerings from when I lived in MI. Hoping to clear out all the stuff before 2019 soon. 02/14/2018 Founders KBS. Wonderfully rich dark chocolate silky malts/oats with great barrel presence and integration. Solid coffee presence nuttiness. Very mild warmth/booze of 12.3%. I liked the espresso variant more on coffee boldness after a similar age. It held up better. But the OG has wonderful smooth out of bourbon barrel notes.

Joy from the person leaving, from the team that the person left, or both?

The third period just started. If the Buffalo Sabres can win in regulation they will have clinched the Atlantic division. They are winning 2-1 vs Chicago. Hell may freeze over!

I'm hoping my namesake beer can give me some luck.

Let me geek up (down?) to another level. The cushions do make a difference, depending on how you’re using the headphones.

I have a pair of Sennheiser HD 540 reference phones I bought in the early 1990s for audiophile listening. When the cushions turned to dust after some years of nonuse, I bought the Chinese knockoff replacement pads. They sounded like crap. I hunted down the original cushions and they sounded great again. For drumming/high volume situations, maybe the China foam would be sufficient? I defer to @superspak.

Personally I have never had a problem with off brand pads. I always look at reviews before I buy anything. Could be more of a YMMV thing. Cheers. I still want a pair of HD650's, the high impedance will probably require a dedicated DAC interface, but I haven't had full open backs. my K240 Studio are wonderful for soundstage, one of the best. It's like you can hear a random cymbal in the far corner of the room with some bands.

I had the privilege of seeing Kenny Wayne Shepherd at a local venue that was closed down for an assortment of organized crime reasons shortly after the show. Amazing on the guitar. Still playing the Ledbetter Heights album on a regular basis.
