Half way through my work week after last night's shift.

Never had a bad beer from Columbus. This is another good one. Cheers all!

 

Good day BAs! Thanks @Shanex for opening the bar and sorry about your plumbing problems! I just got a $791 water bill for one month for an empty rental property - leaky toilet. It took about one second to fix, but now every time I visit the property, I read the water meter when I arrive and just before I leave.

Today's New Breakfast Beer:



Trooper: Day of the Dead Stout from Robinsons Family Brewery. 16.9 fl oz bottle, purchased 02/04/26 from Franklin Beer, Franklin, PA. $ 6.00 (Including tax)/$ 0.355/fl oz. On room temperature shelf at distributor, stored at 40 degrees F at home. Reviewed 15/04/26, review 3725.
Final impression and summation: 3.5 (After deducting 0.25 point for an undated personal container) Uncredited label art. Easy drinking example of the style, reasonably priced import. Not great but decent.

Today, there are thunderstorms and it's windy, out here in McGregor--but both cats Gracie and Sundae are very pleased to be alongside while I check out the day's libations...each a second-time experience, and a celebration of fine Ontarian breweries: First, with Sundae, from Toronto's Avling Kitchen & Brewery--their 3.8% Bohemian Lager...

Happy Hump Day BAs - and I feel your plumbing pain @Shanex .....was kept awake last night / early this morning, hearing my well pump cycling on and off - which it shouldn't be doing....discovered a leaking hot water heater - oh joy! Spent most of this morning - draining the tank, and disconnecting the water lines etc.....a buddy and I will be picking up a new one I ordered, after lunch, and get it hooked up!

Always something to contend with!

A gorgeous day on tap here. Punching into the VB time clock with a beer gifted to me by @GreenBayBA recently. District 1 Polish Eagle Brau Pre-Prohibition Lager 5.2% Cheers! It is almost kinda sorta like an Italian Pilsner and is fabulous.

More hops today starting with a nice cold Land of the Long White Cloud from Tree House. One more can left after this, a hazy DIPA w/ Peacharine hops that was new to me until this batch. Nearly a month since canning and this is really tasty with some cantaloupe melon notes coming forward with the fresh stone fruit peach and nectarine flavors, along with grapefruit, lime and orange citrus, some tropical fruit like mango and pineapple, black pepper hop burn spice, and even a hint of their old signature juicy fruit bubblegum yeast note in there as well which I was never really a fan of. I probably enjoy the Jubilee DIPA more, this is still good with me though to get that Peacharine hop fix. One reason why I always loved Citra so much was that peachy orange mango flavor, and this hop amplifies that peach nectarine stone fruit taste with a little less dank earthiness I think, and some more floral and peppery spice flavors perhaps. Cheers!

 

Point Green Circle Pale Ale. Very tasty with a bit of a "spicy" hop resin note that lingers. It is old school I suppose. I like it. Cheers!
