Figured I'd launch the 2026 edition of this thread. Anybody go to Lumberbeard's 6th Anniversary last weekend? I came down with "Flu-A" about 2 weeks ago and am still not fully over it, so I've been doing an unplanned and unwilling dry January, and therefore did not attend. I assume there was some sort of epic barleywine released for the occasion, as is LB's wont.
Unfortunately I think I have that same flu right now, but I was able to go last week to the party. the Year 6 barleywine was way too easy drinking at 15% per usual. Lumberbeard really knows how to make great BA beers. tasted like a liquid Werther’s in the best way possible.
I've currently got a 4-pk of Super NOG in the fridge (awaiting a time that my stomach will be over the flu - apparently it's not quite there yet), and the cans have similar labels.
This flu is no joke. When I went to Urgent Care a couple weeks ago, they told me to not be surprised if some symptoms didn't go away for several weeks, and they were right to do so. I'm mostly clear of it now but certain aspects are grittily hanging on to me. Hopefully, you have an easier time of it.
the Supee NOG has the new labels? If so dang. I my posting of NOG made me crave NOG, so I bought some NOG from Yokes. But old labels. And what is also potentially suspicious - no canned on date. Bottom of can simply says “canned on”. Almost like date was erased. Hopefully not super old product.
My dad had a super rough time too and it took a full 10 days to get better. Hoping my symptoms take a bit less
Just added Palouse Brewing, in Palouse, WA, to the database. A friend of mine was down that way this past weekend and alerted me to it's existence. I'm thinking a Palouse region brewery run might happen in the spring time, as I also still haven't visited that brewery in Rosalia, yet.
Lester Cup beers are beginning to turn up in Spokane. Got one for home consumption at Humble Abode on Saturday - their Weizenbock:
Just added Rose Garage Brewing, in Rosalia, WA, to the database (I was sure they'd already been added). Perhaps I will visit them on a weekend soon. Looks like they're about a half hour down HWY 195 from me.
I saw the other day that Spokane Brewing Supply opened on 1422 W 3rd Ave in Spokane. I popped in and chatted with the owner briefly. He is also opening up Salt King Brewery at the same location. The brewery is opening sometime in March. I will keep you posted and add the brewery into the database once it opens.
Had myself a "light.lager" from Wildland Collective after work last night: Apparently this is now the official Riverkeeper beer. Nice to.see that tradition revived, although I seem to recall the old Riverkeeper from River City having a bit more character.
This is happening at Precious Things on May 16 to commemorate the release of their Maibock: I think I can risk one beer if I can play with baby goats and watch the chaos that may ensue.
