Another thing I thought about during my recent trip to Abita. Pretty straight forward. Three of my favorites:
Always liked 3 Floyds' metal vibe. Alchemist. The Heady and Focal capture the head-exploding power of the massive hops contained in each can, waiting to be unleashed! I like their other cans, as well...simple, refined, artistic and elegant. Lastly, Treehouse has some cool ones throughout their massive catalog. And yet another cool metal vibe from Tired Hands^^^
I’ve always loved Bissell Brothers logo. I have a shirt with just the logo, and it’s like if you know you know. Love the black Swish can
A lot, if not most, modern branding leaves me cold. It's either grotesquely cartoonish or obnoxiously metal themed. I like simple, clean labels (Georgetown, Maine) or labels that give a sense of place (Deschutes older branding).
I laugh at all the hazy IPAs in 16 oz. cans on the shelves or in the coolers. To me, the overwhelming majority look the same. So much for brand recognition.
They closed last year. Both the Denver and the Asheville locations. Prior to that they began contract brewing some (most?) of their canned items at New Image, though. At least a few of those are still being brewed today. I'm not 100% if there are more, but they at least include the 4 items on their website. On the plus side, Nashville Hot Chicken took over the rest of their Denver location and they still serve those canned TRVE beers. It's not quite the same, but it's something.
Normally, this is me, also. But Drekker doesn't offend me the same way. Maybe because it's goofy but with a similar approach?
Based on your avatar I never would have guessed this. I like Firestone Walker, at least from a few years back. I think it’s classy yet understated, which seems appropriate for the beer they make. And of course Fremont, because I’m a fanboy, and also because they manage to be pretty creative with herons and abominable snowmen.
I love Lawsons branding. So clean and bright. And when I see the beers in a store it’s immediately apparent that it’s a Lawson beer.
