What didn't you like about it? I passed on it when it was for sale since I wasn't thinking I'd enjoy those adjuncts together, even though SP rarely produces something I don't like.

It kind of tastes like salty dirt. I think if it was truffles or caviar it might be fine, but both don’t work.

So it tastes like heavy peated scotch?

That sounds like House Fire, their collab with STLFD.

I thought it was ok, you could tell it was well crafted but very salty.

I wonder what happened to the LC silent barrels that were picked almost 8 months ago at this point

I've wondered this myself. I got invited to one of those and couldn't make it - offered it to my proxy out there - he went - said it was fun - last I ever heard of it.

It was one of the few malty beers that they've offered that I passed on. I was thinking my palate would be overwhelmed, and not in a good way

I really hope they have some heat lined up for the rest of the year because so far, this has been the lamest year for LC to date.

We got an email maybe a month ago saying they’ve been bottled and asked us to collectively pick a name and wax color. Still waiting to hear back after that whole process.

I think there’s 4 total bottlings forthcoming: 2 from mid-October and 2 from Stout Week a few months ago. I was in one of the latter, and it was one of the coolest things I’ve ever gotten to do. It was a really fun (and dare I say thoughtful) exercise.

Our pick was unanimous after working through everything, and no spoilers but a really cool barrel that was on the younger side of the samples we got to choose from. So despite being anxious for the bottling, I’m happy it’s parked in the barrel for a few extra months — I think that’ll only make it better.

We picked our wax/name on the day of the pick, so maybe @Sammonsd was in one of the October picks and we’ll be seeing those soon.

It’s gotten worse year over year as they continue to take advantage of their most loyal customer base. Some of us try to warn you every renewal period but folks keep signing up. More power to them

@HolladayHill Yeah, I was in the second group that went the night before the LC party last year.

every year is the lamest year of lc. Maybe in the minority, but ive been very interested in most of whats released, especially on the sour side

Comparison is the thief of joy.

While I'm sure there are some out there who wish LC was still the 15 guys who would sell off their prized possessions for a chance to drink Cory's day-old bath water, Side Project has been pretty transparent about what LC is and what it isn't.

There was a year in there where it transitioned, seemingly grew 10x overnight, and I think the new members (me being one of them) let their imaginations run wild with what LC would hold, but they addressed it well in the subsequent years.

sure. Why bother hoping it’ll ever get better when you’re fine with it getting worse
