Florida Man DIPA CO 4/12/26. Citrusy in spades. Tuesday afternoon Cheers!!

 

No Dice by Badfinger is super hard to find on vinyl here, I look for it with a few other ‘must buy if found’ LPs. I know I could just order it, but what’s the fun in that, lol. Iconic album cover.

 

1) Sierra Nevada Pils (4.7%): A Pilsner from California with flavors of lemon spritzers, floral notes, dry pale malt.
versus
2) Half Acre Neon Foothills (5.2%): A New-Zealand Pils from Chicago with Superdelic, Nectaron, Motueka, Nelson for flavors of grapefruit, pineapple, tropical punch. (Correctly matched the two blind)

Sierra Nevada versus Half Acre Pilsner Battle. First is Sierra Nevada. Euro hop and malt flavors with a distinct Sierra Nevada lemon citrus and floral note. More citrusy than the traditional Euro style.
Next is Half Acre Neon Foothills with a New-Zealand Pils. My first try at this. I'm not sure what to make of the style, but I cannot deny it has some great hops in here with Motueka and Nelson. Aromas are citrusy and tropical like a NEIPA. Same on the flavor with a fantastic blend of citrus and tropical notes. If this was a NEIPA it would be fantastic. Still, this is an odd style and drinks like an IPL. The Europeans might be horrified with what us Americans have done with tradition and purity, but I suppose this wouldn't be the first time. Embracing these for what they are, I enjoyed both of these.

On a side note an idea for BeerAdvocate just came to me. I know a lot of BeerAdvocates have been posting these two recently, but I couldn't remember who or when. Maybe this is a better question for @Todd, but would there be a way for every beer on the site to have a unique tag/link on its profile page? When you post or mention a beer on the BeerAdvocate website, you can copy and paste the link. Then each beer could have a "mentions" tab sorted by date where we could see who has posted/mentioned the beer on the site using the tag. I think it's different enough from Untappd because the tab would be tracing the specific beer tag whether it was included in mentions, discussions, or posts, not only drinking it now and post a pic.
