I was searching for a beer the other day on BA, using the beer name. Turned out there about 40 beers of the same name. Then it occurred to me that I have apps on my phone that allow me to take a picture of a plant or animal and the app immediately identifies the species. How cool would it be to be able to take a picture of a beer can and have BA bring up the information for that specific beer without having to scroll endlessly to find it? The last time I saw a wish list for the BA app it was a couple years ago, so I thought it might be fun to see what current members dream about for BA improvement, especially since Todd has made so many improvement s lately.
I love how when I'm looking at a brewery and the beers it makes, there are 7 options I can use to search for a beer like, name, style, ratings and abv. One feature I think would help with reviews and ratings is adding a vintage year.
It would be nice to be able to 'mark' a post that has a link with an article or video that I want to read/watch but don't have the time at the moment. By the end of the day I can remember that I wanted to revisit a post from earlier but now I can't even remember which forum it was in.
I’d love for the “You” column in the beer styles pages to be sortable again. But in-platform image hosting is still top of list.
I'd like to be able to download a CSV file of the beers I've reviewed. That would be even more useful if I could do that for people I'm trading with. I realize there are scraping browser extensions, but built-in would be nicer.
Google Lens already works great for this. I just tried it and it took me to a lot of information, plus links to the BA entry and many other sites.
My wish is that next time there are sweeping 'improvements' that it doesn't require me to lose log-in capabilities on my phone and also not affect every other thing I do on the internet. I had to clear everything from every site, and either create new passwords for the other sites I stay logged into, and had to create new accounts on a couple. All because I had to clear BA repeatedly. I was on the edge of saying fuck it and walking away, but I managed to save my log-in here. I did not appreciate the massive amount of bullshit the recent improvements dumped on me.
The inconveniences that recent improvements caused for some were unfortunate and unanticipated, but I resolved things as quickly as possible, we're saving thousands per month in server resources and bandwidth, and the site is fast AF now.
I'd like to see a widget that helps one person start and properly name and number WBAYDN and NBW. When one person starts posting it, it stops anyone else from also starting it for some interval like 5 or 10 minutes, and tells others that it's in process by user xxxxx. Consistent naming and numbering would reduce misnaming and the widget would prevent starting too early. For WBAYDN it could close the previous one. Instead of the current message "Waiting for someone to start today's WBAYDN!", it would be a link titled "Start today's WBAYDN". If someone 'times out' it would allow them to copy their posting so they can try again if nobody else has tried, or post in the established thread. The widget could require a minimum level of Savant or Maven for WBAYDN and Pooh-Bah for NBW. Complicated, admittedly.

I’m good with pretty much everything. What do you want people?!? That said, I wish uploading photos to beer profile pages were easier. I’ve done it 231 times and it’s always kind of a pain in the ass.
