The Hodag of Rhinelander, a Double IPA from 3 Sheeps with Riwaka and Nelson Sauvin. Very tasty and a notch above the Rhinelander firewater I remember drinking.

For those outside Wisconsin, the can art is an artist’s rendition of the allusive Hodag. Spent some great summers of my yoot up in the North Woods, but never had the privilege of seeing one. @GreenBayBA , being much closer to their native territory, may have some stories.

OK, it is finally time for some Sketches of Spain (I'm like Hank Hill, I love my delaying gratification ha). My all time favorite album...sometimes you can argue over what you think is the best or your favorite...for me, well it took a few listens cause its not an easy album to get into. But once I did, this easily became my favorite album.

Opened one of my favorites for this as well...Tilquin Oude Gueuze (2020/2021 bottle). With the age, its a bit flat, but still great. That funky yeast, tart and acidic and straight unsweetened grapefruit juice...oh man that is fantastic.

Having some backwoods bastard at my local bottle shop. Summers in full swing, they've got college baseball on the tvs, people are cooking burgers and hotdogs on a charcoal grill in the nearby alley, it's practically a buffet.

I dare a BA to ask you why you would go for the "mono" version over stereo. In fact, I double dare them.

Well, for one, that is the version the Miles estate put on YouTube ha.

But, as you can probably see I have the stereo version...which is to say the mid 60's 2 eye reissue.

All the other early Miles albums I have are the 6 eye Mono version. Which is what Miles wanted everyone to listen to. I can get into the technical things, but Columbia stopped doing Mono all together for jazz around 65. I love my 6 eyed Mono's, but this version is also really damn good ha.

Good Sunday afternoon, Advocates. It's a much nicer day than yesterday here in North Jersey. Mrs. Mac has returned from volunteering at a weekend camping experience for disabled children out in Pennsylvania. This event is held every year on the weekend after Memorial Day at a Christian camp that she attended as a child.

I love a good Cream Ale during the warm weather months and Autodidact just released one - called Blurred View. It isn't as sweet as, say, Genny Cream but it better balanced. And at 4.9% it is crushable. Cheers!
