1) Phase Three Seven (8.0% canned 4/2/26): A NEIPA from Chicago with Citra, Krush, Motueka, Galaxy, and oats for flavors of lemon citrus, passionfruit, zesty pineapple, lime.
versus
2) Phase Three Double Pixel Daydream (7.7% canned 3/1/26): A NEIPA from Chicago with Citra, Motueka, and Nelson for flavors of grapefruit, white grape, floral berries. (Correctly matched the two blind)

Happy Sunday BeerAdvocates. Sunday Phase Three IPA Battle. First is Seven, their seventh anniversary IPA. Nice hop combo with Citra/Galaxy base plus Krush and Motueka. Nice passionfruit and pineapple plus some tropical lime underneath. Excellent and on par for Phase Three.
Next is Double Pixel Daydream, a collab with Other Half with Citra, Motueka, and Nelson. Amazing hop trio. Citra base plus some Nelson for tropical grape notes and some Motueka to give it a smooth lime flavor. Finish is smooth in Other Half Daydream fashion. I can't imagine a better construction of a hazy DIPA. Probably the best beer I've had in 2026.
Winner: Phase Three Double Pixel Daydream

Hitachino Nest Espresso Stout, 7% ABV. Pours black with a three-finger light-brown head that left no lacing. Aroma is coffee, light chocolate, and sweet malt. Taste is mostly coffee, roast malt, slightly sweet, equally bitter. Decent mouthfeel, overall very good to excellent adjacent.
