Coffee was meh this morning. Man am I ready for a brew! The little garden cage I build ystrdy is rockin' and I'm eager to learn more about growing better leeks. All new to me. Already three flowers on the zucchini (which the deer would devour)and numerous flowers on all pepper plants. Dreary but warm here and got some rain overnight but not enuf to stop our lawn irrigation. Mosquitoes are here now. Gotta use repellent.
I will now self-irrigate with this Looks Shingding Pickle Lager 3.8%

Happy Thursday! Stopped at my bottle shop here one last time to get some stouts to bring home (I generally won’t fly IPAs), but they had a new Brew Your Mind hazy that I couldn’t pass up. Leaving on Saturday so this is probably my last IPA in Hungary for a while!

Safe Choice NEIPA — kind of grassy and fresh-hoppy (though it’s not a fresh hop). It’s good.

Another Hopla! From Godspeed Brewery

 

First beer of my long weekend, no classes for me next week since the students will be taking exams, so I don’t have to go in until the 15th, which is the last week of the year anyways.
Unfortunately it seems Madrid will not be renewing ANY of us foreign English language assistants next year because of bureaucratic nonsense but I should still be able to swap to a different comunidad in Spain anyways, leaning Asturias at the moment.

Going out to have dinner with some new friends later, our Spanish host is cooking us dinner, I’m the token gringo alongside a Belgian gal and a Slovenian guy, should be fun!

I'll contribute to the slow start today with my last can of Infinite Haze quadruple IPA from Tree House, dated 05.06. Had a fun day yesterday at a seafood restaurant in Gloucester with a few friends, then hanging by the seashore at a beach park for a while. Got home in the evening and made a little cocktail refreshment over ice to cool off and chill before the NBA Finals game last night which was pretty up and down and fun to watch. Looking for a new apartment to move into in a few months now too.

This beer is hitting nice right now, a hint of light toasty bready sweet caramel malt, peach gummies, ripe stone fruit, candied tropical fruit, pineapple, mango, passionfruit, guava, blackberry, red grapefruit, orange citrus rind, and dank earthy floral resinous pine. Definitely not a refreshing IPA by any means, but for a 10.7% abv juicy hazy NEIPA this one is pretty special imo. Great flavor profile, a bit rich but not overly sweet really, just a great hop profile over a substantial malt base. Cheers everyone!

Well, sugar. My last beer was 4.7% ABV, not 3.8%. And this knucklehead is goin' for another Pickle Beer!!
Totally awesome.
I saw numerous Scarlet Tanangers a couple wks ago but they've continued their migration to Canada. Really pretty. I can find this young lady 2-3 times per day browsing our property and I hear a Tom gobbling away calling her a couple hundred ft away. This is a very pleasing environment & atmosphere for enjoying a beer with you. Thanks to you BAs and some planetary alignment!!

We had quite a thunderstorm last night, with lots of light and noise. Our dogs were not happy, but they survived and and are in good shape this morning.

Keeps sprinkling out here but I just can't peel myself away from fresh outdoor vibe.
Kros~Strain Hot As Helles Lager w Chilis and this can is particularly hot, esp on the lips. Each can can vary in pepper heat intensity. Another reason I love this beer.

 

Next up is this Czech lager from the convenience store, Pražačka. Nothing special but perfectly decent. And for like $1.50 it’s super solid

Tree House - JJJuiceee Project: Citra + Mosaic drinking super supreme right now. Big dank blueberry notes, passionfruit, pineapple, tropical yellow mango, red grapefruit, lemony orange citrus, peach, lychee, light caramelized bready malts, and floral earthy resinous herbal pine. Real great juicy hazy DIPA. Cheers all!
