I'm originally from PR and let me tell you, our forté definitely isn't beer. Most taste like BMC.

Well, I'm a ticker, so any beer is cool with me. She brought me the Banks lager from Barbados, I'd expect that PR could easily match that.

And a good one too as the overall score shows. I wish I had friends travelling abroad and bringing me beer!

So, I think it's only fair to have a couple brews at the bar whose access I'm using, and while they always have new and interesting stuff on tap, I usually try 'em earlier in the week, so that makes 'em ineligible for NBS. However, here's one I've never even heard of from Deschutes: http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/63/59921/?ba=beertunes

Good Evening NBS Imperial Red Ale for me tonight as well.

Brisk and chilly here in Southern, CT today but with bright sunny skies. Spent the day doing any variety of chores, home improvement, etc. My wife made some sauce today which I cannot wait to have shortly with some stuffed Rigatoni!

I tried this brew a buddy gave me from what appears to be a newer mid-west brewery:

I tried another beer from them a couple of weeks back and felt about the same on that one as well. Not quite what I was expecting as my review states.

On a side note, I refrained from hittin up 3 Bean from Sixpoint since I officially tried my first one on Friday. If I have room for another beer after dinner I may get back to it, but not NBS qualified. The point is, if you see it, try it. It's worth the few extra $ to sample. A unique twist on the Baltic Porter IMO.

    >>>>>> New Winter Warmer Sunday <<<<<<

I'm starting to clear out the DBF of the winter ales in anticipation of Spring.

Today it's Fireside Chat. Not a bad winter ale, perhaps a bit long on the dark fruit flavors.
    http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/735/62732/?ba=RJLarse

It came in cans too which is something I am starting see more and more of.

Still very much winter here in eastern Washington. We just topped freezing for an hour so around mid day, and now we are headed in to the 20s with a chance of snow showers over night.

Spring can;t get here soon enough.

    Happy Trails!

Finishing off a 4 pack of Sixpoint Resin, actually the first beer I've had by them. Little disappointed by it, with the 89/90 rating I was expecting something more but it tastes like they just dumped a shit ton of hops in and canned it.

    New American Porter Sunday

Good evening, guys. The temperature is dropping here in Central NC, and theres freezing rain predicted for tonight/tomorrow morning. When that happens, everyone has a fit. Theres a decent chance I have a delay tomorrow morning. After a tasting this afternoon, I came home to a bottle given to me by RedneckBeerz.

Really thick, heavy body. Very hoppy (lots of pine). Honestly, this would make a world class Black IPA. The finish is bitter from the roast AND the hops. I like it alot.

    Thanks Gary!

Well, one of my favorite regional/local breweries had brewers night that I attended the other night, and somehow this one slipped past me, so here's my last new brew for this NBS. Cheers all, have beery and fun week! http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/1066/89479

Good evening! NBSers. St. Louis awoke to cloudy skies and freezing rains with temps hovering slightyl above freezing. As the day went on temps rose but skies remained slighty cloudy with some slight fog moving in. Pretty nice weather for a lazy Sunday.

I didn't do much but sit around and read while my wife studied for her Professional Engineering exam. Afeter dinner I decided to enjoy this:

2012 version. Pretty amazing brew IMO. Great cocoa notes both sweet and bitter. Nice roast mixed in there as well.

You've got to love New Beer Sunday! (especially when you are sitting on your back patio in 75 degree Texas weather!)

Today I tried Lagunitas Hop Stoopid Ale....the verdict....an incredible beer! Loved it...a nice 102 I.B.Us but not too overwhelming. A great way to end a relaxing weekend.
