Sent 6 Hopslams to a friend in NJ. He just sent me a message stating that he received my box with packing, but the beer has been removed. Apparently UPS took out the beer and sent the f***ing empty box! Has anyone had a similar experience with a shipment?

Is there anything listed on the tracking page that indicates some damage had occurred?
Or even obvious tampering of the box?

You should report the theft, if that is the case.

Would totally report the theft. The thief would pretty much have to admit their own wrong doing in order to provide an argument protesting the claim.

This is akin to a smuggler calling the cops because someone hijacked his stash.

Are you going to tell UPS that your unauthourized shipment of beer was stolen?

UPS provides service for other alcoholic beverages (beer and alcohol) on a contract basis only. For shipments containing beer or alcohol, shippers must enter into an approved UPS agreement for the transportation of beer or alcohol as applicable, must be licensed and authorized under applicable law to ship beer and alcohol, and may ship only to licensed consignees. UPS does not accept shipments of beer or alcohol for delivery to consumers. UPS accepts shipments of beer or alcohol only among and between selected states.

while true that it is against policy, theft is a crime. If they are going to remove your bottles because it is against policy they need to tell you.

You're out of your element Donnie.

If they didn't go through the proper procedures to flag the shipment, update the status, notify the shipper, etc.... they will almost certainly side with the customer on this.

While it is against policy, I would definitely bring it to UPS' attention. You can always play the "I didnt know I couldnt" card.

Beer trader alerting UPS = they say "dont do that" (wrist slap)
Drug smuggler alerting cops = they send you to jail (wrist slap w/ handcuffs)

If you are going to flat out lie, then you might as well tell them that you lost an expensive electronic device and ask for hundreds of dollars in reimbursement.

If you are going to test the policy, you need to tell them that you shipped 6 Hopslam beers (approx. value $24). You were aware that you needed special permits to ship but thought that you could slip it through without getting caught. Unfortunately, the beer was removed from the package by someone in the shipping chain. Ask for them to reimburse your for the $24 and the shipping cost. See what they say.

Hopslam doesn't get shipped CA (retail). I was just guessing the cost based on numerous posts in other threads.

How much is a 6 pack of Hopslam?
