I'm going to an event with a bunch of people. They are sheep, they will drink anything. I'm on the east coast, near Philadelphia. The two deals that I see right now is Miller High Life 30pk 12oz cans for $16.99 and Yuengling Traditional Lager 24pk 12oz bottles for $16.99.

Any other beers I should be on the lookout for? Good price ratio, palatable, etc.

I know a guy who has fairly strong opinions about this very topic....

Anyway - I suppose as far as lowest number of dollars spent per ounce, those will be hard to beat. You could pay a little more for significantly higher quality (IMO of course) and go with Sierra Nevada or Sam Adams.

Very true. Even friends and family that drink BMC almost exclusively will drink Sierra Nevada without a thought.

Just make sure you also grab a 4- or 6-pack of something a little more palatable for yourself and anyone else who might actually want something good

    Rollom right on.

I get 95% of my beer from a great bottle shop but if I need to take to a big party and needed one maybe two choices--check out Costco:

    SNPA cases 23.99
Sam Adams variety packs (12) similar price point
Costco usually has something local and craft--in NC a case of Hoppyum from Foothills for around 26$--a steal.

    Pick one,
Mix in with the Yingyang stuff and your are set.

    Fear,

I had real good luck with Liebotschaner Cream Ale two summers ago, $15/12 x 24 bottles. Since it's a Lion product, some of the distributors carrying those, or Stegmaier products, might have. Wish I could get out here in Lancaster. Burgkopf, low $20's for 16oz cans x 24 wasn't too bad of a deal, either.

Now I know why I am glad our weekly neighborhood party (Flamingo Friday) is BYOB.

My suggestion: buy yourself some Little Sumpin Extra, and buy some Yuengling for everybody else. Worst case, if you run out of LSE, you just have to deal with Yuengling.

SNPA is a good beer at a great price, 12 pks here are right around $14. At a little more than a buck a beer you can't go wrong. If you can't bring glass look at Torpedo in cans, also friendly pricing. If you just want cheap buy a case of PBR.

Liebotschaner is a good choice, but not that common.

I would also consider Yuengling's Summer Wheat. It's cheap and it won best German Style Wheat Beer this year at the Beer Championships

If it's strictly between those two I'd have to go Yuengling.

Change it up and get a 15 pack of cans or two of Founders All Day IPA and give them a little beerducation. :grinning:

In Canada we've got good ol' Pabst 5.9. Tastes like worse Pabst, gets you messed up so you don't even care. It's also like $3 more than a 24 of pbr which in Canada is $40. And yes this is the cheapest beer in Ontario
