I'm just starting to cut my BA teeth and have, as of yet, made one trade, but the Beer-it Forward concept is intriguing. I've been following a few BIF threads and have a fair idea about how the BIF process works once a person is "in," but I haven't been able to find information on how to get "in." Does anyone have experience with this? It seems like many of the BAs in any given BIF know each other fairly well. Is it a matter of building up a reputation on BA and getting an invite? Checking forum boards for a sign-up call out? Thanks for the insight.
They will be posted in the Beer It Forward forum and you would sign up there. You'll want to get some trades under your belt as BIF's are generally for seasoned traders but you will find a couple that include noobies as well. You want to know that you can properly pack a 6 bottle trade, that won't break, before you send out some 300 oz monster box and that comes with experience
@mbmiche we're about to start another round in the Locals Hints and Hauls BIF. It's the first BIF I got into and it's a great way to start, since you don't need a bunch of rare beer or anything, just good local brews that you want others to try. If you don't have anyone to vouch for you, you'll have to ship earlier. Our current runner has all the rules posted for this round in the thread, I'll link you to it. In regard to the 'everyone seems to know each other very well' part, that's really a result of the being in a BIF. For the Locals BIF we're starting up round 3 now so some people have been in for two rounds now, others one (like myself), and we have a couple people that are joining new. You end up knowing everyone quite well just from all the banter that goes on in the thread I've actually ended up being involved in a couple side trades just on the back on the BIF, which has been pretty cool.
Hey all. I was referred here by a moderator, blue-dream, saying you may be able to help I was looking to get into a BIF group, but don't know where to start. I've been watching the BIF forums, but don't see any that are open to new arrivals. If anyone knows of a group I could join it would be much appreciated. Cheers
Aren't there any noob BIFs being done any more? These used to happen pretty regularly, and were a good way for new traders to get their feet wet and learn the ropes. I'll admit I havent looked in that thread in a long time, so maybe there are.

Check out the locals posts @cultclassic89 referred, and send me your info. I'm actually in the middle of putting things together, but not QUITE done, so you can still join. And a bunch of us (including me) were newbies when we started this.
