Oops I didn't finish deleting that sentence before I hit post. I was going to comment about how absurd the Hudson Valley Facebook group has become, but decided against it. The earliest I can make it is 10am, and someone commented asking how early to show up and all people do is make jokes. I legitimately have no idea if ill get beer.

They are laughing because 10am is extremely late to arrive for HV. Two releases ago I arrived at 7:15am and was close to 200th in line.

I should clarify, I did not post in the group. Someone asked when to arrive and people are making jokes saying tomorrow night. Two releases ago didn't the beer last through the line? Two hours before a brewery opens is considered extremely late?? I guess this is why I haven't lined up for beer in a while.

Yeah but HV is great about cutting allotments to stretch it. I am not positive but by the end of the line people were getting 1 can each. Can, not 4pk, 1 can each.

That's really good to know. Welp, I may be leaving home at 1 am on Saturday but I know I'll at least get 1 flippin can barring an act of God.

Star Chamber and Mirrorshield lasted the line, and well into the afternoon with (I believe) full allotments

That was the release that coincided with NY Beer week though, right?

They have never cut allotments to 1 can each... The excitement around their releases has been pretty wild and growing, but for each release since Multichorus/Subglitch (which was the first to really garner a big line), there hasn't been much, if any, difference in allotment for someone arriving around 8-9am and someone arriving at 5am.

I think the Apotheosis/Babylon release saw allotments past cut from five to four 4-packs around the 7:30am arrival time, and then to three 4-packs around 8:30am (maybe two by 10:00 or so?). But it lasted for about an hour after the line was through, so one could've showed up at 2:00pm and been fine with 8 cans of each.

The only release where allotments ran particularly low was the Outstanding Contribution... release, where the case count and initial allotments were so low to start (105 and two 4-packs, respectively) that allotments were cut about three quarters of the way through the line to one 4-pack each. That is highly unlikely to happen this Saturday.

Having been to every release save for one since Multi/Sub, I feel pretty comfortable saying that you'll have no problem getting at least two 4-packs (and likely three) of each beer if you arrive by 9-10am on Saturday. Unless you won't be satisfied leaving with any less than 32 cans of sour DIPA in tow, save yourself a poor night's sleep.

This is the release I am talking about. My arrival was 7:05am and the allotments were cut to 3 4pks by the time I got cans.

It was absolutely cut down to 1, I was still there at this point. It didn't last til 2pm at 8 cans each.

Yep. Same week as JFK to LAX and LGA to LGB

I kinda suspected there would be fewer folks out for that one, but I couldn't make it.

Apotheosis and babylon: we were wristbands 98/99 and arrived at 6:50.
Multichorus/Star Chamber: we were wristbands 54/55 and arrived at 3:50.

This isn't actually the case. For the Apotheosis/Babylon release, I arrived at 8:15am, was wristband #366, and by the time I reached the front of the line (which was close to 1:30pm), the limits were cut to one 4pk of each.

They did last through the line with the reduced allotments, so there was about a small window of time around 2pm where you could walk up and buy a 4pk of each.

So showing up at 4pm would not be smart if I'm looking for cans?

Yeah same thing happened to a buddy of mine. Doesn't make any sense to me that people who show up 4 hours before they open get 1 pack of beer, the same amount as someone walking in with no wait.

Everyone here and on Facebook seems to think this ticketing system is the "fairest" way to do release but it created this issue, encourages people to "line up" at ridiculous hours, and is keeping people from me like going on release days.

At this point, shouldn't HVB have an idea of turnout?

I only went to that one Apoth/Baby release back in January, so I'm not entirely sure. Following along with the more recent releases on instagram stories, it's seemed like the cans have lasted a bit longer after the line than, but I'll let others with more experience speak to it.

Ah, okay, my apologies! I am likely mixing details of Apoth/Bab and Mirror/Star releases...

Has anyone heard or know what HVB’s relationship with the town of Beacon is like? After Saturday’s release, I can’t help but wonder if there’s going to be some major changes to make things more organized or compact with all the chaos going on. I was there at 5:45 am with almost 200 or so in front of me.

While I don't know for sure ( I can find out if I want to, I know a town councilman ) my guess is that the town of Beacon, that is now Brooklyn Heights North, was once Bed Stuy north not too long ago, and any positive changes of a cultural and economic nature likely will be looked at favorably. I don't think things can go unchecked with rampant drinking and littering, but I expect more leeway from the town than you'd normally think.

But I thought the line police @COONEYERIK said not to do that?
