a: Pale honey/gold, nice white & frothy
s: Balanced hop & malt, grain notes. Subtle aromas of iced coffee or vanilla icecream.
f: Chewy Munich malty flavours, giving way to balanced hop herbals.
m: Light, zingy & spritzig, medium late bitterness. The malt body from the mid palate onwards is chewy and pleasant, but not cloying or sticky.
d: An enjoyable pilsener, and recommended

Pours a deep clear golden color with plenty of creamy white head that doesn't fade in a hurry. Smells hoppy, spicy and a little floral. Not bad. The taste is also fairly hoppy and bitter enough to finish clean, but there is some nondescript sweetness there too to balance it a bit. The mouthfeel is very heavy and a bit tingly. Overall, it's a very drinkable beer. I wouldn't have any problem drinking six of these.

500ml brown bottle. best before 04/06

pours a slightly darker shade of gold than expected. clear, with very light carbonation. head isfrothy and white, settles to a thin layer that resembles crop circles.

aroma is full, but leans a bit too much on malt sweetness for my liking. just missing that sharp hop character that can make this style so enjoyable.

flavor has a lot going for it. just falls short in the delivery. a drier, crisper mouthfeel, and sharper hop character would go a long way here.

overall, this is a really enjoyable pils. kicks ass over most macro lagers available, but still leaves room for improvement.

Picked up this beer as an alternative to Budvar, as there was none available at the time.
The beer comes in a standard 500ml brown bottle with simple information stating the name, and the brewery etc. Upon opening the bottle theres an instant reminder that this is a Czech brewed pilsner, the aroma is typical of Budvar only perhaps slightly less aromatic.

Pouring the beer delivers a thin head which will remain for less than a minute, leaving a little head residue around the rim of the glass. The colour is a gark golden amber, slightly darker than that of say Budvar.

The beer has a sharp, bright taste, with a fairly strong tastes of hops. Very pleasing to drink, little aftertaste although faint hops and a slight malty dryness.

All in all, a very nice beer at a resonable price. Definatly a good substitute for budvar, and could compete with it or any other czech pilsners.

half decent czeck pils, yes, a little bit cheap and nasty in comparison with other czeck pils, but it was still OK, i picked somespicyness from the hops, and it was malty at first and then bitter on the finish, in the end, i thought it was quite well balanced without being exceptional.

one of the more surprising beers ive had this year. wasnt expecting a hell of a lot from this brew, but it eneded up being a full flavored and very drinkable effort.

darker than usual in its golden hue, had a full, creamy white head that had excellent retention. nice malty nose with a sweetish tinge and some apple and pear like scents present. fine level of malt flavor. again with orchard fruits and a firm crispness that was also clean and had subtle tones of saaz hops that was not as forceful as ive had in other czech pilener/lagers, but definately there and definately enjoyable. medium bodied, but very tasty and finished in a most agreeable fashion.

from the same stable as pilsner urquell, its nowhere near as complex as that beer. but as a session beer that will never let you down in any department, this is a cheaper option that in its own way is no less drinkable. there are beeter czhech beers than this, but its solid and worthy of consideration for any beer drinking occasion
