On-cask at the brewery on 7/6/2014. Served in an American Pint. Pours a translucent burnt-orange with a loose, 1/8th inch white head. Delicate concentric rings of lacing are revealed during the tasting. Nose expresses citrus fruit, rind, an earthy quality and light toasted malt. Flavor profile is equally balanced between malty and hoppy - hops profile is herbal and earthy and there is also a slight buttery quality (diacetyl?) Mouthfeel is light-medium in body with some acidity and a pleasant creaminess. Overall - meh. A decent IPA, but nothing to write home about. I'd like to see some more tropical fruit varietals (e.g. Citra, Moteuka, etc.) added to this brewer's repertoire.
