22 oz bottle, thanks to grub for sharing.

Pours a lightly hazy orange, huge and thick off white head forms and slowly settles to a big fluffy layer, very chunky looking, drops thick chunks of lace on the glass on the way down, good retention.

Smell is okay, some nice floral and citrus hop notes, grapefruit, malty through the middle, some caramel, light pine, Columbus dankness, a bit herbal.

Taste is similar, very malty, some butter, citrus, a touch of lemon peel and grapefruit, biscuit, caramel, light bitterness in the finish, could be more assertive, a bit weak.

Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with medium to high carbonation, feels pretty thin. Drinkable but could use some work. Thanks Russ!

22 oz. bomber, with best before dating on front label, opens with a pretty powerful, poof and then pours out a dark and murky brew under a larger then usual light tan head. On the active side carbonation wise. Leaves loads of thick sheeting and lace. Mostly sweet malt in the nose, with a whiff of minty hop leaves. Pleasant IPA, ample malts, topped by a subtle and enjoyable hop layer. Hops fairly understated, could be more expressive to satisfy my tastes. No west coast hop bomb here. Not really one I'd likely go for again

22oz bomber poured into a tulip.

Pours a very deep amber/ruby color with basically no head at all, nose is quite malty.

Taste is super malty and rich. Very rich, thick and creamy. I really don't know what to think of this because it's not ipa-like at all. It's ok but I wouldn't get it again.

Poured from a 22 oz. bottle. Pours a semi-clear dark dull gold color with a massive rocky white head of four finger width. The incredibly active head receded to a frothy, leggy ring of white foam holding strong atop the beer throughout.

Smell has a nice caramelly base to it, topped with grapefruit, fresh cut grass, and pineapple. Overall a nice aroma if not a little understated.

Flavor is pineapply and grassy with a fairly intense bitter finish. The finish is a little troublesome as there is a metallic hint and an intensity that commands all the attention. Very resiny. The aftertaste powerfully lingers.

Mouthfeel is decently silky with moderate carbonation.

Drinkability is pretty good. Nice aroma makes the beer enticing but the finish and aftertaste detract a bit. Overall a prettynice IPA.

Been a while since I've seen anything new from McNeill's. Read about this beer a month or two back and wondered when it would be making its' way up here.

Pours a decent amber/copper color with a one-finger head into my glass. Looks good thus far.

Aroma is full of grassy, floral hops with a sweet, bread-like malt backbone. So far, the usual for an IPA.

Taste is full of citrusy hops with a bit of a grapefruit taste to them. They give way to a nice and bready malt backbone. Very nice and drinkable.

Mouthfeel is full of lingering citrusy hop taste. Carbonation is actually well-done here, even if there is a bit of an alcohol burn going down (but nothing bad).

Gotta hand it to Ray and Co. for coming through with a drinkable IPA. I think that Dead Horse has more bitterness but this feels more balanced overall. I'd love to have it on tap the next time I go through Brattleboro.

Picked this up at work yesterday, let's go!

Poured into my Captain Lawrence pint glass.

A: Nice dark orange color, about a finger of head that quickly dissipates, leaving a pleasant lace around the top of the glass.

S: Pleasant hop smell, leading into an almost biscuity note at the end. Citrus notes are similarly felt.

T: Hops are quickly felt, hitting the top of my mouth and working their way down, giving the beer a pleasant bittery citrus taste. I agree with Jwale 73 when he says you can taste some grapefruit in there (not a bad thing).

M: Medium bodied with a pleasant amount of carbonation. Taste stays on your palate for a while, teasing out a few extra flavors.

D: A bit much to have more than a 22 of, but it's definitely enjoyable. I would probably stick to one of their other beers over this but it was a pleasant experience.

22oz. brown bomber served in a standard pint glass. Best by January notched on the label. Poured a translucent orange with a rocky, three inch off-white head. Copious tiny bubbles sizzled and popped below the cap, with delicate webs of lacing revealed as the brew head slowly receded. Nose is citrusy, spicy and a slight earthy quality towards the back. Some citrus astringency comes out upfront; grapefruit notes follow before revealing some sweetness in the middle (I think I detect some caramel in the mix). I also detect some cereal grains and a lingering bitterness between quaffs. Mouthfeel was medium-light with a lively background effervescence that just misses prickly. An oily quality also comes out and coats the tongue. I have to say that this is one of the better brews that I have had the opportunity to try from this brewer. Hope this becomes a regular. Well worth your time.
