This was a surprise. Dropped into Sunny's in Eldersburg and saw the sizable display of Brewer's Alley cans on the top shelf of the refrigerator case. Hadn't seen this one before. The description sounded great, so I tried it. Very glad I did. Hazy gold/amber in the glass with a very nice straw foam that lasted through the first few sips. Rich (fruity?) hops smell in the nose (very subtle). I went right in for a taste. Perfectly balanced rich malt flavor with a hint of fruity (not necessarily citrus) hops. Like the description says, a hint of caramel in the finish and somewhat dry in the mouth at the end. No off flavors, no alcohol, just a very clean flavor that makes for easy drinking. The moderately rich mouthfeel reminds you it's a craft beer too. Very good. I felt justified in rating it high, since the two things I look for in a beer is clean flavor and easy drinking. This was both. I'll buy more.

No freshness date listed on the bottle. Nice billowy head and clear highly carbonated pale orange body.
Smell is of really fresh grains. Taste follows, with a super fresh graininess and bready sweetness with a crisp finish. A superb pale ale done very different from current trends of citrus hopped style. Highly recommend.

12 ounce bottle, poured into a pint glass
Appearance: Pours a pretty, golden/copper/amber color with practically no head what-so-ever, except for an extremely thin halo of foam that gripped the sides of the glass and formed a wispy clouds of foam that gathered in the center of the top of the beer.
Aroma: Lots of hops in the nose, very floral, very bright. Some citrus notes of lemon and orange, along with some spice notes of black pepper, coriander and honey.
Taste: Similar to the aroma. Hoppy up front, but not biting or overpowering. Some pretty good toasted malt and honey-like sweetness, follows the hops, and is supported by good notes of black pepper. Nicely balanced flavors.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied with lots of carbonation to tickle the taste buds. With and ABV of 4.9%, there is no presence of alcohol on the palate.
Overall: This is a good American pale ale! Great balance between hops and malt and sweetness. I enjoyed it and would certainly get it again.
